These cars were the COOLEST thing ever. It was fun even letting them free roam on the streets and sidewalks. Cool tires.

I ❤ your collection of the sizzlers you have, and the way you store them for display. Do you have vedeos of them running on the tracks, if you don't. Please vedeo them.

In the early to mid 70s when I was a little boy Hot Wheels Cars and track sets, especially Sizzlers excited me like no other toy. Even the Hot Wheels art work of the era excited me and still does.

Never realized how many Sizzlers were available, for my 10th birthday present in May 1971 I received a fat track and a couple Sizzlers and of coarse the juice machine. That Corgi Batmobile brings back memories as well, got that for Christmas in 67, great memories.

You can get ahold of Alex Peter of sizzlers shop and get new contacts, rechrome parts, batteries, he even does full restoration of all sizzlers and chopcycles. Chrome is about $25 per insert, Backfire motors are less and Vantom bodies are more. I even custom chromed a few night ridin sizzlers.

There used tp be Chrome tech In Canada ...$ 25 bucks to rechrome an insert was a lot less..... $ 25 is far too much ... Even for a rich guy like me..!! Or anyone!

Quite a collection. When I was a kid a neighborhood friend had one of those wheel cases. He also had The Snake and The Mongoose funny-cars. This would have been 1970 or 1971. Rarely see him anymore. Next time I should ask him about the case and those cars. Most likely his Mom tossed them all. I had a Spirograph-like kit where you tacked down pieces of plastic and traced out complete pictures of Hot Wheels cars. Probably around 1972. Can't be exact. My memory is usually phenomenal for a 60 year old,so much so that it sometimes freaks me out. lol. And I still have great memories of Hot Wheels and Matchbox diecasts. Thanks.

Yes I put a lot of work in to these in the 90's. They can be so beautiful. There was a guy back then that did re-chroming and whenever he had them for sale at the conventions I would grab them. Sizzlers when they cam out nearly killed rolling Redlines.

I have quite a beautiful original (non-restored) collection myself even with the "Cubes" that I got into back in the mid-90's also, the 2 big names back then restoring were "Sizzlerking" Ross & "Mike Grove" who did very nice work, nice collection you have there! :-)

Hi David, absolutely spectacular! Long time follower of your cars, you outdid yourself with these cars. I was never a Sizzler fan, since I never had them as a kid, but they have grown on me. I plan to give restoration of a few, a shot. The display is very sharp, any info on it would be appreciated, that's exactly what I'm looking for. Cheers!

So true - I had the original black oval set my folks purchased for me as a Christmas gift in ‘72 which I discovered in our basement - set it all up and played with it for weeks before December 25. I’m gonna burn in hell 🙃

All Sizzler insides when found are in various stages of damage. In the 90's the damage was not as severe as it is when you open a Sizzler after 50 years. Full of battery acid that eats away at the metal. The ones in my collection are very clean, most I cleaned myself. But I have never been interested in running them. So I do not have any new batteries. If you want to race Sizzlers buy some of the reproductions from 2007 and put new batteries in them and they will run nicely. I did do that once but the new batteries run so long that my grandson and I got bored watching them go and go and go and go.....

Searching thrift stores is a ton of fun. When I used to do that I never looked for toys at all, I was looking for stereo gear, Hawaiian shirts, and anything I could flip on Craigslist. Its been years ago though. Nowadays if I go to a Goodwill I don't see anything of value at all. Best wishes.
