A wheel swap would have been an improvement, but these go out as toys for kids, and I don't want to spend a whole lot each week on those, so a colour change and some rim trim was enough. The scratch built roof rack and surf boards seemed to be necessities for this theme. I appreciate the fine feedback. Take care now! 🍁👊

Nice looking Bug I liked the color that cream was nice might of looked good with the front trunk lid done in cream also. Remember traveling along and seeing a VW Beetle and yelling Punch Bug and punching your sibling in the arm? Ahhh good times. I was so happy when you painted those tires. It's like nails on a chalkboard seeing those colored tires to me. Your backup bug with the pink tires gave me the heebee jeebies. I used to see those Ron Jon billboards traveling down I 75 in Florida all the time.

Hi, Chris! I originally planned a larger Ron Jon decal on the hood, but it was looking a bit busy. The cream paint would have worked well there. I nearly did a wheel swap to spruce this one up, but as they go out as toys for kids, I don't always want to sink a $10 set of Real Riders in there. A colour change on those originals was mandatory though! We used to drive to Florida from Canada for Spring School breaks. Punch Buggy was always on and my little brother suffered the most! Good times! 🍁🏄‍♂️🤙

I really have to get a vacuum-form tool. I wish I used styrene for the roof rack. I wrestled with paper clips and failed. P.S. Is your pronunciation of decals like “freckles” a Canadian thing? Hi Tom! Thanks for watching and taking the time to comment. The vacuum forming tool is a great asset in this hobby, for sure! I've used both paper clips and thin styrene rods for roof racks, roll cages and push bars with relatively the same level of success. I prefer working with styrene though. Yes, Canada is home, but I've lived in 7 different countries and picked up 5 languages, so I use a real mix of pronunciations. I think decals (as in freckles) is the Canuck way to say it. 😀 And the art of masking, painting and unmasking is a learned skill, but I rely heavily on good luck too! 😂 Wishing you a great weekend!
