Very cool, I learned to drive on a beetle, we could Cruise all night on a couple of bucks worth of gas, we had six people in a 73 Super Beetle a couple of times in 1976

Dave the last Beetle is from a series I remember having as a kid (still have the 57 Chevy), when the cars were put in hot water the engine would pop out and color would change. Date on my car's base is 1989 if that helps.

It is from 2005 Mystery cars, the white and black rubber tires. :-) Great collection. I also collect just the VW Bugs.

6:52 I got sent that Robo Zoo with a bundle of stuff. Til then I only had that 08 black with the cream panels 13:30 & two Herbies. I now have the black Checkmate & awaiting the white variation. Also waiting for a red 13:57 that is also loose. Sadly, the purple/black '18 50yrs model isn't readily available here in the UK & those who can get it are charging some ridiculous prices.I have always liked the HW Bug & gradually got accustomed to it's cartoonish shape. After the Boneshaker, this is my favourite Larry Wood designed model. I like the accurate Mbox but in these more days of Mattel being more conservative with materials & metal in their models, its reassuring to know that this & TwinMill are still about 70/80% metal, unlike the Boneshaker & 67 Camaro being comprised this last few years.

I have one in purple with the same design as the variations from 1995 and 1997 that you showed but the one I have is with the 7-spoke wheels. I have the basic but also never found the Entertainment version of Herbie the Love Bug. The one Retro Entertainment VW Bug I have is the yellow Footloose Beetle.

I had one of those, it is a color change model, and yours is in between the two colors. Try some hot and cold water to see if it still works but it should go from yellow (the main color if I remember right) to purple. And the spring must be to make the engine pop up, but mine never worked correctly. That is what I remember about the one I had, hope I helped.
