I dont know if this will work but what they should do is give every team a pay cap for example 100K and you must fill out your roster with that. Its a 4 year pay and the player can opt out if he wants to transfer or go to the league at any time. It will help with competitive balance as well.

College athletes absolutely should be paid! In my opinion, monthly stipends aren’t enough. Even the scholarship to attain their degree isn’t enough given they have to put sooooo MUCH time into their athletics, they don’t even have the time to really put much into their academics which is why we see athletes majoring in things like Geology, Sociology, Communications etc. Sometimes they’re advised to major in less strenuous areas for that exact reason. The only people who disagree those who have no idea what top level college athletes go through or those who are afraid this would cut into their profits😒

I had this conversation with my lyft driver, they (the universities) don't have to pay AT FIRST, however, allow the top players to get agents or better yet allow themselves (cut out the middle man i.e. economics 101) to get outside income sources through marketing, tv appearances, BOOKS, etc just like the coaches do ON THE SIDE.

Of course ncaa athletes should be paid. Even most people who don’t support paying players know that. It’s just that the whole system of college athletics is built around 2 sports funding massive losses in every other sport (including the women’s version). Only men’s basketball and football (there is no women’s football) make a profit. Coaches get paid, money is diverted to finance other sports that lose money and money is used to build libraries, science labs, dormitories, etc. There is a ton of money but all most all of it is already committed somewhere. Paying the players what they deserve will require some group to lose their slice of the pie. NCAA Swimming, wrestling, tennis, track and field, hockey, baseball (elite players go to the minors out of high school and 2nd rate players go to college), etc all lose money. Also the women’s version of these teams lose money as well.

@24:22 At last a person who points to the biggest problem here. These kids are not getting the so called education they expected to. This is a big hypocrisy and an as big of a fraud. Even if you pay them, it's still wrong to call them "student-athletes". So 1) Pay them, and 2) Make them earn a valuable degree!!! Otherwise just call it an "exploitation based professional sport minor league". And if you happen to pay them then just remove the "exploitation" word from the definition. In all cases, I don't really see students in division 1 NCAA football and basketball teams.

Not only am I a proud BLK man, more importantly I was raised to love & respect all. Which has been reinforced through out my life w luv I have from peeps of all walks. All that to say, it is so obvious the constraints that are placed on the black dominated sports that ,by way, generate the most money. I can honestly ask myself, if football, position for position was more dominated by white players, I feel in 2019 the definition of amateurism w no doubt be handled differently. I.E...hockey, baseball. The latter doesn't even have a "salary cap" in order to maintain order of the over priced athlete. NBA was kinda forced to make peace for obvious reasons but football, and the overall culture. seems emasculating and subservient. Case in point, you can be considered a Legend in hockey for simply being a goon. Dignity is allotted and a fan w no doubt call that tradition. Meanwhile, most (meaning damn near all) black athletes has the immense pressure of not being the perceived "Thug" he has the burden of carrying from the jump. I mean even Trump knows how to stoke and manipulate the divisive flames by using that NFL card when needed. Not all, but unfortunately too many not only love their teams but worship the The culture of Subservience that echoes in the NFL reminiscent of the dark past this culture & country still suffers from. I love everyone, but the thruth is undeniable
