I started sleeping on my back after I saw your first video about it. It was great advice! I had deep chest creases from side sleeping. At 72 I thought erasing those wrinkles was impossible. Well, they are gone! Still sleeping on my back all the time. Thanks, Angie!

My chest wrinkles are gone, too, and they were deep creases. Exfoliating in a Epsom salt bath with an oil (coconut, castor...) and baking soda scrub will help moisturizers to absorb better and it helps to lighten sun damaged, spotted skin over time. Keeping your arms at your sides while sleeping is key especially if you have larger breasts and wrinkled cleavage. Been sleeping elevated, on my back for over a decade now because of migraines. I'm 55 (and a half) and have no migraines, no visible wrinkles, but laugh lines are there, because I smile A LOT 😁.

Started training myself to sleep on my back after watching one of your earlier videos. It immediately helped with my sinuses and shoulder, neck and hip pain. After a few months, I noticed that my smile lines were decreasing and my hooded eyes looked a little better. Thank you Angie for your advice! It's making a difference in my life every day. For those of you trying to get used to sleeping on your back: Try a smaller, 7" wedge. Try one pillow under your knees, another pillow on your chest (to hug), and a third pillow under your head (pull it up to touch both your cheeks -- like an airplane pillow). I find this so comfy, that I now wake up on my back, even if I fall asleep on my side! Once I found what was comfortable for me, it only took about a week to get used to sleeping on my back.

I started sleeping on my back due to severe acid reflux. I started out using a wedge due to the fact my head needed to be elevated. It has made a world of difference with that issue. Another thing that helps to transition to sleeping on the back is a weighted blanket. It gives the feeling of security the way sleeping on your side or belly does. I was so happy to hear all of the anti-aging benefits that come with sleeping on the back. The benefits of it are endless!!

So for those of you who can't sleep on your back....Here's what my physical therapist recommends. Most people sleep on their left side. The heart side. Sleep on your left side with an elevated pillow but pretend like you have an orange in your right hand and place your right arm behind your back as if the orange was down by your butt. Your neck will thank you and you won't get wrinkles on your chest. I've been doing it for 10 years and I'm 54. I don't have one line down my chest and I don't wake up with neck pain. I appreciate Angies recommendation. I could just never sleep the way she does because of low back pain. I still love her advice!

LOVE the wedge! No longer wake up with a puffy face and eyes and chest wrinkles are GONE! Use two pillows on top of the wedge. A soft flat one at my back and a firm, fuller one for my head. Before, every morning felt I needed to press a golf ball into my right glute to alleviate the pain and now my lower back and glutes are PAIN FREE! That was life changing! Also, got one for my husband and his snoring has cut way back AND It’s saved him from needing a c-pap contraption to keep his breathing airways open! It DOES take a couple months getting used to but SOOO WORTH IT! Thanks Angie

You’ve inspired me to do what my ENT doctor (she’s also a plastic surgeon) suggested to change to sleeping on my back! It prevents all that yuk sinus drainage into your sinus which is a large part of under eye bags. All the allergy yuk drains to your face while sleeping. I have allergy/sinus issues and my doctor told me that it’ll make a huge difference for waking up not congested and prevent aging my face with creases etc. I really didn’t believe her but now I’ve heard it in multiple places people and doctors. I’ve been wondering how to do it and now I feel confident I’ll be able to learn how. Thank you! Thank you!

I use the wedge pillow plus another pillow on top of that to stabilize my head. No joke, the first day I woke up from doing that my under eye puffiness was almost gone. I didn't have the chest wrinkles. After a couple of months of doing that my eye hoods are greatly pulled back to the point I haven't even gone in to update my Botox. Not going to lie it was quite a challenge the first week sleeping like that. I've been a dedicated stomach or side sleeper all my life. Sometimes I even contort a little with my body slightly side facing and my face up ha ha but I wouldn't recommend that (neck tweaks). It really does make a huge difference.

I tried the wedge when I had to have my hips replaced. And it did work but I really missed snuggling to fall asleep. So when I could side sleep again I got rid of the wedge. But I think the my face pillow could really help me switch. I can still easily snuggle to get sleepy and then move to my side and back sleep. Angie....you have the best videos. I so appreciate all your hard work and thoughtfulness. My 46 year old skin has never looked better. I fall asleep on my side but always seem to wake up on my back - I have no problem sleeping on my back. Those who suffer from GERD symptoms will most likely love that wedge pillow as it'll help that malady. I, personally, have 2 herniated discs in my lower back so just lying on an incline can exacerbate my back pain. I'll put a roll pillow (also found on Amazon) under my lower back which helps immensely. Great video as usual!!

I had a huge chest wrinkle for years….I can’t believe it’s gone, but it is. I still wake up on y side sometimes but I am going to look into the pillow you shared that stabilizes your head. I think that will definitely help. Glad I found your video noting the anti-aging and other benefits. There are so many!

I've done this for fifteen years now, and couldn't be more content: results pretty much the same as Angie's. I use an Ikea slatted bed base, and add some cushions. I find it a restful and pleasant position, but my younger self was a curled-up side sleeper. My 'hooded' and baggy eyes further improved - dramatically actually - due to menopause: my water retention seems to have been by and large hormonally driven. Prominent eye - visible white around the iris, making you look overly excited, or even 'hysterical' particularly in flash-lit pics - disappeared completely too, once menopause commenced. [no HRT/no procedures/plant-based]. It's not all downhill ladies :))

So your specific product suggestions are a huge help. With my own pillows I tried to buttress everything including my head but my head kept turning to the side. After your tips in this video, I know better how to try it again. I sure would like fewer creases, higher lids and less eye bags, etc. Thanks again.

Another person mentioned using a neck pillow (airplane/travel pillow) and I've been doing that as well to try to keep my head from turning to the side like you. Worth trying, only $10-15 on amazon

Hi! Hey, I've loved you for years and just found this! Crazy; I know! I so appreciate this -- I'm 60 now and still look young due to those lovely genes we gals who have them have. I had back surgery (dumb) four or five years ago and had to sleep on my back and discovered the same as you did. Nice, huh. I've gone back to your recommendations after watching this; you look fabulous! Kudos, doll! :)

I think Angie was just made for making information videos. She does her research and presents them in such a professional and poised manner. I love her videos.

I have slept on my back all my life and my family used to make fun of me (they called me "the mummy" 😂), but it is the only way that I wake up well-rested, without back/neck pain, and puffy eyes. Great video as always, Angie.

Hi, what pillow do you use when you sleep on your back? I feel that it is not natural to use one when you lay on your back because then the head gets pullef forward.. but maybe I am wrong..

Because of your video, I decided to sleep on my back. I couldn't figure out why my mascara was all of a sudden smeared on the top of my eyes. It was be cause my hoods were starting to droop. I find that a firm pillow under my knees really helps my spin, back, and hips feel more comfortable. I will definitely try the face pillow. Thank you again for being g so helpful and Shari g with us.

This has been the hardest habit to break! I try every night but end up in my favorite left side position. Probably a residual from long ago pregnancies. Thank you for the video, I will keep trying!

I started sleeping on my back after watching you. Kitty made me laugh sure kitty mimicked you when you did the 4. I have Multiple sclerosis so its nuch better for my spine. I did go and sleep alone as well. So wasn't worried about my hubby. The wedge oh yeah, i think its engraved from childhood the side sleeping. Not to mention my neck is better i tilt backwards. No corner black blue eye So many benefits Thankyou from Ange to Angie xxx💞❤💕🐈🐾🐾

I don’t know why this is so hard for me but I’m going to try again. I had a facelift in April and I’m so afraid I’m going to un-do my results. Thank you for the detailed instructions/suggestions!

Thank you Angie! Sleeping on my back is one of my goals for 2020! I have tried many times over the years but have been totally unsuccessful. I just bought the wedge & your face pillow & will give it a go again. My poor chest is starting to look like a roadmap & I know that my current sleeping position is the cause. Wish me luck! ❤️

This is such great advice, Angie. It is an inexpensive, non-invasive, natural and reasonable option to slow down wrinkle formation. I didn't think it was possible after being a lifelong side-sleeper, but I have been able to sleep on my back for most of the last 2 nights. A couple of times I woke up and found myself on my side, so I forced myself back into position and was able to go back to sleep. I haven't purchased a wedge as of yet; I'm just trying it out with the pillows I currently own. I find it incredible that anyone would criticize this video. It's so simple and worth a try.

Hi Angie: Thank you so much for this video. I follow a few people on KZbin but because of the amount of research that you do, I trust your advice on eg skin care the most. You can’t argue with science and results!! Now this video I think will be a game changer for me. I have been having some sort of either allergic reaction or stress reaction over the past few months where I wake up in the night with my eyes itching and swelling. Because of my age, once the episode is over I’m left wth what look like water sacks under my eyes for a couple of weeks until they go away..its just where it settles now. I use cold packs, creams, lymphatic massage etc, but I think sleeping on my back will help a great deal. Wish me luck!! Thanks again....great video. Judy

I was literally typing a message into the video you posted today asking you to do a video about how you trained yourself to sleep on your back and what products to use. I thought I better do a search first to see if you had done one already. Thank you for reading my mind!

I plan to do this when my 4 year old is no longer glued to me at night. Imagine: getting wrinkles in my 40’s and having a young child. 🤷🏻♀️I have, however, started my anti aging skin care regime and you are my guide. I have a retinoid, SPF and matrixyl on board. Ascorbic acid next. Thank you Angie!!!!

4 years old is enough to sleep in his own bed, you don’t want a Norman Bates.

I’ve done my best to sleep on my back since high school, 20+ years now. It was so hard being pregnant and not doing it. I agree you have to train yourself. And with your mouth closed. Always. I agree, great advice

I trained myself to sleep on my back 15 years ago. I don't have bags under my eyes either and I wonder if that's why! I can't sleep comfortably with my head elevated like you. I sleep in the 'flying Peter Pan' position though and put a large pillow under my knees (otherwise my back would hurt in the morning). One trick I used early on was to wear large post earrings- that way if I rolled over in my sleep they would be so uncomfortable that it woke me up and I'd roll onto my back again!!

I've been sleeping on my back for about a year now. Initially I did this because I have severe TMJ. Sleeping of my side was pushing my jaw to the side. Sleeping on my back has not only helped my jaw, I also noticed all the things you mention about less puffiness, dark circles and shoulder pain, and of course that wrinkle on the chest. It took some time to get used to, but eventually you do. Thanks for sharing Angie!

Thank you! I was doing so well with this, but then a bout of insomnia happened and I went back to side sleeping. Now I need to start over again. I think I will try the wedge! I appreciate the standalone video because I've tried to search for the video in which you talked about it, but I could never find it. Thanks!

I use a Sleep Number bed with an adjustable base and already do not sleep completely flat (slightly raised head and foot), but will definitely raise the head a lot more to help with this. Thanks for the video!

Aaawwwww. . . sweet kitty! I told my sister she needs that "C" shaped pillow!! She sleeps with like 7 or 9 pillows at night . .. !! I might like to try it also. As a kid and into my 20s and probably early 30s, I slept on my back, (when it didn't really matter...lol) then I hurt my back and became a side sleeper. Now having turned 50 last year I am trying to sleep on my back again and I have been working on this for some time now. I do pretty good most nights, but there are those times when it is always just SO comfortable to roll over and snuggle in on my side!! LOL For years my husband slept on a wedge to help with snoring, and yes it did help, but then I bought a 6 inch wedge that goes between the mattress and box spring. (or on top of your mattress if you don't mind sleeping on foam) I know 6 inches isn't huge, but I think it helps. So now we both sleep on a little incline, and I also sleep with a couple pillows under my head and shoulders. I really don't see a huge difference, hopefully I will with a little more time. Thanks Angie! Have a great day! XO

I switched to my back after viewing one of your previous videos and boy does it make a difference! I had a deep crease on my chest near my collar bone and it's gone! Also, my eyes had started to look a little hooded and they don't anymore. I've been doing this for a couple months is all and I can already see a difference. It does take getting used to, but eventually it gets easier.

I can attest to this; I stopped sleeping on my back about a year ago... I never realized people noticed the chest wrinkles, until someone pointed out that, after not seeing me for over a year- that the skin on my chest looked amazing. Weird compliment, but it was true! This is probably the most effective thing for my face and chest lines, other than serum hydration.
