I know, I don’t understand people who have to be rude.
@9melissal3 жыл бұрын
@@sherrysawyer6819 I don't think they were behind rude. They just didnt realize how much of a difference makeup and lighting make and wanted to know what was different. They didn't say anything negative about how she looked, just that something was different, which it was.

@@sherrysawyer6819 I found it as insensitive as you did, Sherry. I'm rather thick-skinned, too, but I also recognize that not everyone is genuinely self-confident and rather indifferent to what strangers think. Even someone as thick-skinned as me thought it was careless, at best, and intentionally rude, at worst. It's as if the person who left the comment was deficient in empathy for others (read: a narcissist). It's the kind of comment you might expect from a child at the grocery store who asks the pregnant female in line in front of them why she is so "fat". While we can all understand why a young child might say something so inappropriate, we expect adults to possess empathy for others.

My eyelids seem to lead their own life, they look different every day, one day less hooded and other days really hooded🤷🏻♀️ Depending on how i sleep, lay and what i ate the day before (salty). I don’t drink alcohol but when i use to drink sometimes i always woke up with hooded eyes😂. Makes such a difference with eyeshadow, the same in my case. Thinking about surgery, as a makeup artist i would really enjoy a spacy and tight lid, shimmer in the crease😍😄 You and your makeup look great Angie!👌🏼You look like a very pretty friend of mine, she looks like Bo Derek!

Love how you do this look natural bec most of the hooded eye tutorials are very dark colors. I'm not a dark eye makeup girl and I end up looking like I either have black eyes or that I'm a clown. I can't wait until you can do some more drugstore eye makeup products for us hooded eye girls.

First of all, thank you so much for your tutorials. I have recently discovered them and it is really helpful to find a single voice that resonates. Now I don't have to go through a dozen youtube videos to find what I need. I can just go to your channel. Now, I had major eye surgery many years ago to repair damage from Grave's eye disease. While the surgery was fantastic and let my eyes move back into the sockets, there is still a tiny gap where my lids don't close properly. This means that my eyes get irritated very easily. The tiniest drop of powder or eye shadow that gets in will result in me having to remove all the makeup and treat my eyes with soothing eyedrops. So, mascara and anything on the waterline is out. I do try to smudge some shadow under my bottom lashes and that is ok, but I am not sure it has the effect that I want it to have. Particularly as my eyesight is not what it was. I wear glasses all the time. What eye makeup would you suggest?

I've watched you for years., and STILL this was hugely helpful! I've gotten to the point where I think 'well yeah, but *my* lids are actually sitting *on* my eyes now. Hi Angie I love this kind of soft pretty makeup on more mature women - it's always more youthful. Don't get me wrong I love a smoky eye for a night out (i'm still a rock chick at heart lol), but for daytime soft shades are really lovely. I too like a navy or soft grey liner for daytime, as I age black has started to look a bit harsh on my pale complexion. I'm very cool toned and like taupes, pale pinks, mauves and soft greys on the eyes for an everyday look. For night bring on the purples, smoky greys and silvers. We're still in full lockdown here in Scotland, so I haven't been wearing much makeup tbh as I don't wear it just to be in the house. I do love makeup though and hope to get some use of my newer products as the year goes on. I have the zoeva en taupe palette, which also has some similar shades and shows up on my pale skin (better than it would on those with a warmer or deeper skintones). It always amazes me the comments some people think are acceptable to leave on youtube videos. I think you're a very glamorous woman with a great figure and nice eyes and hair. None of us have the lids we did at twenty (without a lot of surgical intervention), so why call out normal signs of aging on someone who has more mature skin. It's just rude tbh. I'm 49 and have always had hooded lids, but obviously they have become more hooded as i get older. It's my eye shape and natural aging process. I don't want surgery (nor have the budget to do so) and appreciate tips and tricks for a bit of optical illusion. Makeup washes off, but it's about our own confidence whilst we wear it (for those who choose to do so). Best wishes.

I have had good success with some of the Dollar tree makeup. I've been using them for years due to finances. My favorites are the LA colors lipstick in white tube, LA colors lip gloss white lid, LA colors bronzer and blush in rectangle packaging. The LA colors eyeshadows aren't my favorite. The Sassy and chic bb cream is ok if you can find your shade. Its worth buying two to mix to create your shade. It doesn't break me out. I have tried all the DT mascara brands and don't like any. The LA colors powder in the black round compact is good if you can find it but the compact is junk. It stays in my makeup drawer lol

Another influencer, Allie Glines loves some of the makeup line from Dollar General called Believe. She said the foundation is better than some high end luxury brands she has tried. It is only $5. A great deal for the quality.

@@ashleys4652 I have tried some of these believe products too. That foundation is awesome. I have a bottle of it right now lol.

Great tutorial, thank you. I have watched others, which have been good, but I like that you didn't go dark but still got the desired effect. The Tarte pallette is definitely on my wish list. Lovely combination of colours, and as you said, not many dark ones, which at 68 with hooded eyes I try to avoid. Thanks again 👍

I just coincidentally bought the Tarte Juicy palette and I love that you did a tutorial with it. I'm 53 and my daughters wedding is in 3 months. I will be using your tips to disguise my hooded lids!!! Perfect timing!

I can't believe you're 58, makeup or no makeup. I laughed when you mentioned jowls... you don't have any! Please do a video on how to prevent/stop them! Maria

I will watch this several times as it has SO many great tips. You are beautiful already, but the products and the way you use them are so enhancing! Thanks for a tutorial that tweaked my routine.

The fact that someone would ask such questions just kills me. WTH?!

The way Angie took it, I don't think the person was rude. They were both very self-confident, the viewer for asking and Angie for addressing it the way she did.

Just ignore them. They just want attention, so just let it go. That bothers them. They are just jealous!

I didn't see the question, so I can't comment on the phrasing. I'm glad it was asked though (hopefully kindly). This is one of the best makeup tutorials I've ever seen. I didn't even realize eyelid hooding was a thing (and I'm definitely experiencing it).

I agree! I have NEEDED this tutorial, especially for my eyes. Also, I've never really been into contouring, but seeing the difference in your face with the contour, blush and highlighter was so huge. I think I've been converted.

I’m just curious, why does nobody mention the effect of the face mask on our faces and our make up?

Hi, I am a brown gal,who loves your channel. But unfortunately, none of the makeup colors you use work for our skin tone. Would love it if you suggested some makeup shades for brown skin😊

This works! I have followed Angies advice from a previous vlog and its a nice improvement over my prsvious eye Makeup routine. I would add that instead of using liquid eyeliner, use a lip brush ( who's using it anyway these days 😉) and a dark eyeshadow, its more forgiving on crepey eyelids

I had always thought that shimmer on older eyes was a no but it looks so good and youthful on you.

Try Mac Omega single shadow to mimic that taupe center shade in the Dior palette. Too light for dark skin but works on Angie’s tone or lighter.

Wow, that was really helpful. I’m definitely going to try these things the next time I do my make up. Usually putting on eyeshadow is such a difficult thing for me to do I end up wanting to cry! But she really described her technique so well and it looks beautiful!

Such a dramatic difference! I'd love some tips for doing this with cream shadow. My eye doctor recommended I stick to creams as they are easier on dry eyes. Hope you will consider a tutorial with creams also.

I have sagging hooded eye lids and never used to think it's a problem... I don't do make up because I'm not very good at it, can't wear it at work and removing it causes my skin turning red. I think you are gorgeous, Angie.
