This is the perfect story. I think about this film at least once a year and it still takes my breath away it's just so beautiful. The irony of waiting years for the timing to be right to be together, just to have it last only seconds. And yet their love was so pure and true that the sacrifices made were still worth it. How you can never stay one way with someone forever, no matter how hard you try. I'm gonna cry all over again thinking about it.

I completely agree! This film truly is a masterpiece. The fleeting moments they share, combined with the purity of their love, are both heartbreaking and beautiful. The irony of waiting for the right time only to have it slip away so quickly is just so powerful. It’s a reminder of how precious and fragile relationships can be, and how some connections are worth every sacrifice. I think about it often too, and it always brings me to tears.

Recently, I haven't been watching too many shows or films, but I found out that "Hotarubi no Mori e" was only 45-minutes. I've also always enjoyed watching the "you can be king" AMV that was uploaded 7 years ago. Without a doubt, this anime does not disappoint and is well enjoyable. I always thank you all for commenting on my videos and sharing your thoughts! It's something very dear to me and something I love seeing and reading! This anime movie had potential but idk why it was so short and they like pushed the ending I don't like the ending at all it should've been like when he died the girl gives everything to take him back from where he was and then Gen come back to life and is a human now and they both live a happy life. Tht ending would be amazing to watch🥲

@@Juhnime Personally, I feel like the ending is pretty happy in a way though. It shows that Hotaru has processed her grief from parting with Gin and is moving on with her life. But is also able to think back on her memories of time spent with Gin with a happy smile, and is looking forward to going back to her Uncle's place to visit the place that she met Gin.

Sometimes a sad ending is the most beautiful ending. Gin dies but he dies finally happy because he finally gets his greatest wish fulfilled - to embrace the truest love he has ever had. And in the end it was the only happy ending that could come to pass. The other option is Hotaru outgrows Gin in age and she moves on to have a real human life, leaving Gin heartbroken. This way they both got to cherish their love at the only time it was possible. And even though it was brief, seconds really, it was true and it was worth the sacrifices made. It's a really beautiful story.

Was a sad story I think gin killed himself on purpose if he didn’t then it’s the most dumbass dead’s in anime. What I like is that they really did fit a while story in 40mins and it didn’t feel rushed. I think the ending was abrupt. But it didn’t hit as hard as I want to eat your pancreas that shit had me in tears.
