The term Hotboys was some street shit that started with Baby's brother and his clique. A lot of people from Uptown called themselves hotboys. Master P's cousin was known as hotboy Jimmy way before Cash Money even started using that name. Go check out Master P's old albums when he shouts out hot boy Jimmy. Cash Money started the usage of the name as far as rapping but that term is old.

Cash Money started calling themselves hot boys when b.g.'s album it's all on you volumes 1 and 2 dropped that was in 97. No Limit did it on da last don. No Limit used to say they were souljas not hot boys. The original hot boys in new orleans was one of baby and slim's brother named terrence gang. They wore red and were responsible for most of the murders back in the day in the N.O. but he doin life plus 10 and the rest of them are dead. He's the only real gangsta in the williams family.
