I asked my grandpa why he goes to the range multiple times a month. He said “well to keep my aim sharp in case Germany wants to go a 3rd round again, or if some young punk thinks he can take my wallet”. Nuff said papa, I totally understand and completely agree which is why I joined him until his dementia got too bad. Since I’m his caretaker now I still take him out to the range here and there if he’s feeling up to it that day(which he always is, but I know when he’s not having a good day so I unfortunately I gotta tell him no sometimes). He still is a very good shot even at 98 almost 99 years old but he can’t stand up or kneel to shoot anymore so we always use a bench and sandbags to help so he can rest the firearm on it

Wouldn’t even dent a modern tank, and those fire more accurately at a much longer distance. And really, they wouldn’t even need that because some guy with an Xbox controller 1,000 miles away could delete you with a drone strike.

An old friend of mine had a 37mm projectile like that. I think it was meant to explode. The slug was 2 pieces and the back screwed off and it was hollow inside but you could tell it was once filled with powder so I took a piece of wire and scraped all around on the inside and dumped out a pretty nice little pile and we put a flame to it and sure as hell it went right up like black powder!
@chost-059 Жыл бұрын
Definitely a HE projectile maybe an APHE but those were mostly used by european countries, the US used solid AP or HE for 37mm guns

I remember growing up and an older cannon, not pirate ship cannon, but something like this but much bigger, maybe from WW2 was just sitting on the corner of my street. No fence around it just sitting on display. You rarely see that anymore.
