🥰 My first road trip to Disneyland was in 1959, the year that I was born. There were my 2 older brothers, my parents and me. I was only 6 months old at the time, so I don't remember any of it. But it was the beginning of many, many trips to Disneyland and then, in the 1970s we started going to Disney World. It was the best time of my life. Thank you for sharing your own adventure.

There weren't that many gas stations along Route 66 and they're far between. So, cars traversing the "Mother Road" had to be well-maintained, I guess, and had to carry extra gallons of gas in the trunk in case they ran out of it. Having a car breakdown on that highway in the middle of nowhere must have been a big nightmare.
