Really bad customer service. Very challenging and confrontational. No apologies or concessions. The staff acts as though the customer is the Enemy, rather than the source of their income.
@johnking51742 жыл бұрын
Well that is typical of British "customer service", the fact is there isn't one. You only get top service if you stay in a 5 star hotel or even one of the better 4 star hotels. Adelphi rates as 3 star, but I wouldn't even class it as a 1 star hotel.

I worked in hospitality for over 25 years, I have always seen my customers as the lovely people who have paid my mortgage and paid my wage, however, I once commented to a member of HR how do some of these people get up and dress themselves in the morning, get to work and function without the aid of care in the community. He actually mentioned, you really can't say that, but agreed. Best wishes

Wow I do not agree with the way they handle their customers. The guy on the front desk was out of order. Who cares how many breakfasts the waitress did it is still her job. I love the Head Chef and he is pretty mild compared to some I have worked with. As a server, waiter or waitress the first friend you should ever make in the business is the chef. He can make or break you.

If your a chef you should be at the top of your game in the kitchen, and he can't cook decent vegetarian food....he has no business calling himself chef!
@drozycoder2007 Жыл бұрын
It was 1997, the vegan society estimated the number of vegetarians at the time to be 224,000 in the UK. Roughly 0.4% of the population at the time. Vegetarianism being a rising movement, as a young chef he wouldn't have had to accommodate vegetarians at all; he never learned what decent vegetarian food is. He's not in a 5* restaurant, it's a hotel restaurant. It's ignorance, but he has a reason.

I became a veggie in 1995 and I was the only one I knew 😀 in Liverpool at that time the only dining out option for veggies were Indian and the handful of Greek restaurants, pubs and British places were lousy and was always palmed off with omelette and chips or spaghetti with tomato sauce :(
