I've stayed at the Edison and i too had a room with the exact same type of view inspite of me asking them to allot me one with a good view. I even offered to pay more to upgrade and the lady at reception simply wasn't interested. Funnily enough, I never ventured towards the Bond side of the hotel and always entered/excited from the entrance you showed us. Hopefully the next time I visit the US/NYC, I'll try the marriot marquis and the knickerbocker. Currently doing some research on a hotel room on a high floor (25th floor and above) that has a balcony and a great view.

Looks fun, I dig the old school style times were different back then new and cost effective isn't always the best choice, in my opinion. A block away from all the "craziness" how crazy would you rate it from 1 - nut house? Do they have rooms that over look nice views?

On weekend it can be a 7 or an 8. If there is an event, turn it up higher. I have been there when its toe to toe and you literally can not move. Its wild. The rooms do have nice views but you have to be on upper floors. Its a hit or a miss with that one. You can try to request it. We checked in early so maybe one was not available. My view was terrible.
