Thanks for the video. Im coming for the first time to US and New York next spring and i chose this hotel. Mixed feelings about the reviews. Some gave 1 and other people 5 stars.

I think you'll really like the Rum Room. I'm a native NYer, ex=patriot. I know the pianist. If you're planning on doing some drinking the Edison is perfect, you can enjoy the crowd in the bar and just fall up to your room. Always been safe. Even in worst times NYPD had a cop posted right outside the bar. I could set my watch to when the police sergeant would come by and check the post. In addition, the Hotel Edison has traditionally been a favorite hault of Europeans visiting NYC.

Thank you for this beautiful video. My late father and I stayed in this fantastic hotel in 2003 and 2004, unfortunately both times I suffered a migraine... Nontheles I enjoyed our stay very much and when I come to visit New York once more, I willl certainly stay in this hotel again! Greetings from the Netherlands.

Thank you for this informative video my family and I will be visiting New York this December for the first time and I’m just researching what hotels are good so far seems like the Edison is decent

I also have a video on here of the Marriott Marquis as well if you want to check that one out.

@@MrMyrtle i will have to see it thank you I heard great things about the Marriott which one would you recommend?
@MrMyrtle3 жыл бұрын
I prefer the Marriott for the amenities but honestly they are both pretty much around the corner from each other and as far as convenience I would stay at either one of them. The Marriott is a little more expensive but the rooms are bigger and you get a fridge and there are food options. Hotel Edison does not have a fridge in the rooms and the rooms are very small and there is not a restaurant in the hotel but there is a great deli next-door.

Thank you for the review! Staying here next week for two nights with my 11 year old daughter. Wanted a hotel in Times Square so we can easily walk to the theaters, restaurants, etc. Kind of nervous about the quality (not the size since we’re only there to sleep/shower) of our room after reading some reviews. Debating on whether or not I should request a certain floor for a renovated room....🤔
@MrMyrtle6 жыл бұрын
This was filmed back in August so I would think/hope they are much further alone in renovation process by now. I do know that all of their "signature" rooms were stated to be complete in August.

I stayed in 2013 in a newly renovated signature queen, they are the ones with the bigger renovated bathroom too. Have stayed in a classic room but not as nice overall.

The Hotel Edison is my favorite hotel in New York. it's too bad you didn't get a room on the north side, they are bigger, with a better view. Still fantastic. Did you eat at Danny's Deli? Delicious Tuna Sandwiches. Saw Mickey Mouse and Minnie come in for a break. really. i have pictures.

The rates vary based on the season, floor, occupancy and current economy. Go through expedia and see what they offer.

I stayed there in 1989 for 2 days, the room I was in was completely horrible. no better then a motel6 room. filthy rugs, smelled musty. hope it has changed since then.

Hotel Edison. Highly recommended from a native NYer. Spents several night there over the years: 1969 (on a USO referral) 1989 and 2000. Never a problem. For the mature crowd, not a teeny bopper crowd.

Oh wow! I stayed here for a high school orchestra trip in 1993! Right after the World Trade Center was bombed.
