I have been doing pool maintenance for a while now and would like to add that the pool filter selector valve should be rotated clockwise only. Also the correct sequence for pool filter cleaning is backwash, rinse then filtration. I hope that helps, keep up the good work.

No sir. 10:48. You just made it 1,000 times easier to break into that room. That’s your deadlocking plunger, the bottom, smaller latch. That piece’s job is to prevent shimming attacks. It’s supposed to be forced into the door like that. When depressed, it prevents the main latch from depressing. When the door is shut, the deadlocking plunger is supposed to stay depressed so it is activated. If it’s getting caught, that should be addressed without disabling the function.

I teach a hotel facilities management class (housekeeping and a little bit of maintenance). I love this video and will be sharing it with my class. You really captured a day in the life of a maintenance person. I also love how you advocate for the housekeepers and clean up after yourself! Thank you for posting.

Try work around your top and middle hinges with longer screws as the weight of the door will make it lose level and fall down, and most probably will save you a lot of time on trimming the frame and frame's plate. I get similar problems on my doors

I’m a hotel maintenance at a Hilton property! Things can surely get interesting during the day! Your pool filter setup is way different than the one I deal with! I even have to deal with a spa. Out pool and spa are salt water which is hard on our pool equipment. I’ve had door issues as you did I usually take the screws out of the bottom of hinge side and lift with a pry bar then put the screws back in. Usually takes care of the issue. You seem to be a more patient of a guy then I am. I can tell by how you speak. The one downside of being a maintenance man is being on call 24/7 but it’s what is expected with the job. Great job your doing stay safe and stay healthy
