He was fired for saving a baby’s life! He should get a medal and a raise plus a new position!
@CeltycSparrow3 ай бұрын
So let me see if I got this right...this young man is working at a hotel....he is having to endure disrespect and racial slurs from his colleagues....he is helping the wait staff in the dining room by taking care of TWO sections of customers....and the customers are crabby and they want things done a certain way and they all want their food immediately, and even still, he manages to do this AND keep a smile on his face and a professional air about him and he saves a little girl's life....and you thank this young man for this heroic and noble act by FIRING him, because, in your words, "He disrupted the service." It sounds like he was MASTERING the service. So you are then inferring that you would rather this young man just stick to taking care of the customers and IGNORE the choking baby, whose parents are distracted, and risk the baby dying or getting severely brain damaged to invoke your precious protocols because GOD FORBID the tranquillity and perfection of your dining room be shattered. Oh yes, I'm sure her parents would have left you a nice, hefty tip for THAT. They probably hugged this young man and thanked him profusely for saving their daughter's life. They probably thanked him for paying attention, despite being so very busy, and in so much pain from a day of carrying heavy trays, but yet, him noticing their daughter was in distress and reacting immediately to save her and even keeping an eye on her after he saves her. THAT is good customer service, in my book. He is a hero and shame on you for firing him. You are just jealous because the man you despise so much is being hailed as a hero and you're not, so you fired him out of pure spite. There are some scenarios where it is OK to disrupt the service for a minute, if its to save someone's life or respond to an emergency. The family was extremely thankful and your other patrons were also united in their support of Darius and hailing him as a hero. Sounds to me like he SAVED service. I'm sure the mood would not have been nearly as jovial, had the baby choked to death. I am really looking forward to seeing what karma this family has in store for these cowardly fools. And I am VERY glad that Miss Wright, set things right with Darius and not only restored his job, but gave him a promotion and implemented the changes to establish a better work environment. And I think Darius should a lot of class, being willing to give his tormentor another chance. The old tyrant should have been fired on the spot, but mercy is divine.

Yeah but seem the manager was not about to listen to anyone same if they are thinking he is above him everyone because manager is a bove waiter and mr.Dawson did not want to take order from them and refuse to change his decision showing that his decision was final and that people should not tell him what to do and will not change his mind its sad but seem they demonted the manager for his unprofessional behavior.

I can Imagine Darius putting emphasis that if anyone is CPR certified make yourself know to the staff members and maybe also put empasis on learning how to help anyone baby/child/adult in a choking situation as well.

1. Standing up for the right of a life saver by an appreciating family such as witnessed at the said dinner, is admirable. 2. Firing an employee for saving a life, citing "causing disruption' is surely beyond comprehension. 3. The manager was lucky not to be fired himself for acting negatively on a bad decision. Instead he's the one who seems to be 'rewarded as he gets a free course to learn on managerial principles. WHAT A WORLD!

In this part of the video he realized that the baby was choking it's called the hymink maneuver and I remember years ago when I was eating with my wife a woman grabbed her throat,and before I could do anything, another guy saw it to and did the maneuver and you could see something came out of her mouth, but good thing he knew what to do as he has young kids to, and it's very dangerous if you don't know what you are doing and it's called reaction time.

Even if I worked in Paris Hilton's hotel saving drowning kids in the swimming pool, the manager must learn gratefulness towards saving someone distressfully. Even if it is a no kids' elderly couple need help, I must show my respect towards elderly people no matter what as if I am kind to them treating them nicely and kindly.

My daughter choked on a hard candy. Fortunately, as a nurse and EMT, I taught CPR and the heimlich to a couple of hospitals, and to the public. I had to do a heimlich on my own daughter. I'm glad I know how to do this. It was handy on vacation when a man collapsed in a place we were dining. I did CPR until the regular EMT arrived to take the man to the hospital after a heart attack. EVERYONE NEEDS TO KNOW HOW TO DO THESE THINGS AND SHOULD WHEN NEEDED. Regardless of skin color, remove the skin and everyone looks the same, and all bleed red.

In this part of the video I remember years ago when my friend TOMMY called me and said what am I doing today and I said nothing, so he said can you come to my house and I said fine,I will drive over,and he explained that another employee accused him of pulling a knife out and he was going to cut him, so I said let's go to the restaurant and when we got there a representative from Local 6 was there with a woman and I think she was the owner and I told him that I know where Local 6 is located and I said then I will see you in Federal Court, and a couple days TOMMY called me that the manager wanted him to go back to work, with back pay and they fired the other employee with no referral

This story should serve as an example of how prejudice and bias can cause a poor working environment, and even in our neighborhood. Jesus tells us to treat each other as a friend, or a brother. He even tells us to "love our enemies". Can you imagine living in that kind of world? God bless you, and others, as well.
