Hello, Holly! Variation idea for the craft stick lamp/lantern...... Dollar store square mirrors in the back (on the inside, of course). That way the candle light will be amplified by the mirrors. I would suggest that you use a chippy brush to remove wood stuff from your saw. Rather than your fingers.

I don't know what they treat Dollar tree wood with all of their Wood products including Jenga blocks feel like they got some kind of a coating on them except for the raw wood pieces that they have, and when I use hot glue even surebonder or gorilla hot glue both of which are supposed to be made for wood I have the same problem the glue seems to seize very quickly and it doesn't do a good job at sticking to the wood. I find that using a wood glue and waiting just a few minutes for it to dry it doesn't really take long it takes 24 hours to cure so it's solid but you can handle it rather quickly within the hour I would say. Every time I use hot glue I have to dig and scrape and cut away and then my piece ends up coming apart anyway. Save yourself a headache with the hot glue and just stick with wood glue with Dollar tree wood products
