Great video as always Jay, in my humble view you're doing some of the best guitar related content on KZbin, a refreshing change from the usual contrived rinse and repeat stuff. This is a fab looking unit, sadly though I think you're probably the only person to actually have one in the UK at the mo. I've had one on order with Thomann for a while, but delivery keeps being pushed back, I think all the shenanigans in the red sea is messing up shipping times.

I'm very happy with your patches and the factory patches in general. Could you indicate how to set up a boost that can be activated during solo's? Probably via the scenes function, but how/what/which position would you recommend? Keep up your videos! Cheers, Michael
@jayguitar7 ай бұрын
Thanks Michael. I appreciate it and really glad you like the patches. Drive pedal activation via Scenes or I assign them to button 6 or 7 (usually 6) on the unit so that I can switch it on and off when I'd like to. I set up the drive pedal after the noise gate (and wah pedal if I am using one) and then into the amp. Sometimes I have a phaser after the drive pedal, but only now and then. Hope that helps. Have an awesome day!

Great Q man! All of them sound really good through headphone. The Ampero II - Stomp and Stage - I would say sound better through headphones as there is more DSP and the amp models are more HD. But the original series is pretty good too 😊 Hope that helps. Have an awesome day.

Hi there. Thank you for your video and insights. I believe this unit has great potential. I would be nice to see the possibility to rename each scene, Like “Clean”, “Crunch”… or “Verse”, “Bridge”, “Chorus”… and color each scene differently for easy reference and on the fly use. On the Editor it would be nice to be able to create folders to organize presets for different purposes, by “Band” and such… Let us all push for these improvements and help Hotone to have an even better unit. Thanks.
@LesterLouieLibago2 ай бұрын
You can change scene names through you phone app and pc. For the colors unfortunately not, hopefully they will add it for the next update.

Really digging the number of footswitch possibilities on this thing for live use. Add an expression pedal or two and it would be a nice little setup. Most of these small units suffer from not having enough footswitches. I really wanted to like the ampero II but the noise was just too much (some people said it was due to a crappy power supply?). Please tell me they fixed it in this unit because it looks great and the price ain't bad either. Great explanation of scenes btw, I never quite understood scenes vs patches.
@jayguitar9 ай бұрын
Hey dude, yes the extra switches have bee super helpful! I love the scenes function too! For me thats the biggest attraction to this unit over the Stomp. My unit is whisper quiet - even my Stomp. I used it while playing live in China last year and it was very quiet so maybe it is the power supply - sometimes it cab be a grounding issue in the house as well (something that I have learnt over time as a long time tube amp user). I use an isolated power supply extension strip with power conditioners built in for my tube amps. Its more expensive then a regular extension strip but works great to reduce hum and noise. Hope that helps. Have an awesome day.
@jeanphilippelabays18888 ай бұрын
I agree this thing is noisy. I have owned it for one / two months now and I start tweaking it. Most of the amps are noisy AF, this is kindof disappointing. Noise gate is a thing but not a solution. According to me the noise is coming from the ampero, I don't know exactly yet how, it depends very much on the amp. With the same configuration I can pass to a noise free sound to a very throbbing noise just by changing the amp. It should have to do with the way the amp is modeled.

Hi Jay, may you write a letter to Hotone to insert a simple 1 switch looper among the blocks that can be dedicated to any FSwitches? That would be revolutionary in its category. I try to ask more people to send letter to Hotone and I hope they would listen to us finally. Thank you a lot!
@jayguitar12 күн бұрын
Hey dude, I can certainly pass it onto my contacts at Hotone. So, it would be a send and return in a single block correct? I know that the reason for the separate send and return is for max flexibility so you can send from one place and return somewhere else. Anyways, let me know and I'll be happy to message the guys 😊 Have an awesome day!
@ymelfilm11 күн бұрын
@@jayguitar Thank you, Bro:) I hope we alk about the same thing: I meant a 1 button looper to record and play back: NONE of its category sport a useable looper that would work for one-man-band scenarios. All multi effects needs a complicated algorithm to enter the looper that moreover occupies the whole display and you cannot turn on-off easily other blocks on the fly. And when you want to turn off the looper, the same silly process again. So Hotone would attract even more guitarists - or even singers or other players - with a looper pedal that can be placed anywhere among the 5 available foot switches. If it is possible, it is very important that the STOP function should need one single step (not double like on the HX Stomp) to be able to use it live. And the Delete would need one long step on it. Thank you!!!!!!! I wrote 3 letters, and I got a kinda polite nothing answer for my first letter half year ago.

how do you find the touch screen duing a hot sweaty gig? is is still as responsive if you need to tweak the sound a bit? when you have sweaty/wet fingers it can be difficult to use the touchscreen on a phone so I wonder if this is the same?

is it possible to change amps delay drive etc on every scene? or is just like turning it on and off? hope you response. thanks
@jayguitar12 күн бұрын
Hey Carlo, thats a great Q - you can set it up so that there are a couple of drives, amps or delays in the chain. Of course, it depends on how many blocks you have available as to what you can add and DSP available but it is possible. I did a tutorial on setting up a dual amp setup with various effects and switching items on and off with scenes that will show you what is possible and hopefully provide some inspiration as well - kzbin.info/www/bejne/iXKXk3WlpLmXmbc - Hope that helps! Hello Jay, I know this upload is a few months old, but I was wondering if you could do another video for the Ampero using your expertise to show us all how to dial in the George Lynch "Mr. Scary" instrumantal sound? It would be a bit of a departure, but I've yet to see ANYBODY attempt to dial in a Brad Paisley solo tone. That would be such a cool bonus if you were willing or able to take the time to attempt that. Cheers.....

Hey dude, Thank you for reaching out and for your interest in my content. I appreciate your suggestions for video ideas featuring the Ampero and some iconic guitar tones. While I'm flattered that you'd like to see me tackle these sounds, I'm afraid I'll have to politely decline. My current focus and projects are taking me in a different direction, and I don't have plans to create more Ampero-related content at the moment. I hope you understand, and I truly appreciate your support and engagement with my channel. There are many great resources out there for dialing in specific tones, so I encourage you to explore those options. Thanks again for thinking of me, and all the best with your tone-chasing adventures! Have an amazing day!

Thanks for reaching out about a Mesa Modern patch for your Ampero Stage II! I'd be happy to help you out with that. I can create a custom Mesa Modern patch for you for a $15 fee. However, if you're interested in ongoing support, you might want to consider joining my Patreon. As a special perk for you, I'd be happy to create this Mesa Modern patch and provide ongoing custom preset support as part of your subscription. This could be a great option if you're looking for regular patches or continued assistance as you explore your new Ampero Stage II. Alternatively, since the Ampero Stage II is quite user-friendly, you might want to try creating the patch yourself - it could save you money and help you learn the unit better. Let me know which option interests you most, and I'll be glad to assist further. If you have any questions about the Ampero Stage II as you transition from your Kemper, feel free to ask! Have an awesome day!

i can’t figure this pedal out at all the way you have. every time i try to do the scene thing all the switches light up different colours which is just confusing, the dual amp video you did has all different effects etc being turned on and off as you switch between them but the colour on the footswitch stays the same yet mine turn red, blue, green which just makes it confusing??.

Hey Dan, sorry to hear you're having trouble with setting up your unit. If the unit works in the same way as, i.e. the scenes and effects are being switched on and off, then thats the most important aspect. I can't recall what the lights do on mine but I'm pretty sure it goes multicoloured on me sometimes too. But as long as it switches in the way I need it to then thats cool with me 😊 Have a great day!
