I recently got an S2 McCarty 594 with the USA pups and electronics. Love that guitar, and it does feel.precise, and does make me play better, as it highlights when something is out. Absolute tone monster

Jay, quick question. Just curious how well that TRG leather spray paint held up on the tolex?.. given its been four years now.. Was thinking of using some on my Friedman JEL20 to make it black instead of the red which i hate lol.

Ok, I have always heard that the body shape was designed for Albert Lee, who played teles, but he really liked a strangely shaped guitar that was named the Axis. When MM got EVH to endorse a guitar, they started with and refined the shape of the Lee guitar. It went on to be named the EVH, then later became the Axis after the endorsement was terminated. Ed loved the guitar and mistakenly thought he owned the design, the custom made pickups...everything but found out after he left (or thrown out because of an affair, according to Valerie) that he didn't, nor could he take any part of the guitar with him.

Great score Jay! I’d do the exact upgrades as you. Love the Gotoh 1996 and you can never go wrong with ToneRider. I’m going to guess your decal will be the classy 1955-2020 angel wings. Although “No Bozos” would match well with the red. That would look great on the back. Looking forward to your next video. Rock on brother!

I set and repeated the same patch with the same settings in my Hotone Ampero II Stage...and it does not sound so like in the video. It sounds worse. Difference is not small.

Hey dude! Sorry to hear you're not getting the same results. There could be a few factors at play here. What are you monitoring through - headphones, speakers, or an FRFR cab? That can make a huge difference to how the preset sounds. Also, while I can share all the settings, each person's individual playing technique, pick attack, and guitar setup will naturally affect the final tone. When I play, I sound like me, and when you play, you'll sound like you - that's one of the amazing things about being a guitarist! Even with identical settings, we each bring our own unique touch to the sound. What aspects of the tone do you feel are missing compared to what you're hearing in the video? That might help me suggest some specific adjustments. If you'd like, let me know both your monitoring setup and what tone characteristics you're after, and maybe I can suggest some tweaks to help get closer to the sound you're looking for. @jayguitar Hi, thanks for your help and interest. Monitor, headphones,... I tried everything with your settings. I have a little bit experience Maybe it would be easier to know "your final sound". I mean... your signal goes from the pedalboard direct to monitors? (I do not think so )... is the signal anyway edited? It is not the first time I buy a product and the sound it is by far very different als KZbin. It is really always so.

My pleasure to try and help. My signal chain is very simple - Guitar > Ampero II > USB into my Mac (using it as my audio interface) > Logic Pro X > Logic output to Audient ID44 > Yamaha HS80 monitors. There is no post processing in Logic. All sounds are generated by the Ampero.

I got that axe too. I literally could NOT beleive it after unboxing it, tuning it, and getting it to settle in some. The thing absolutely SMOKES!! Igot the amber one. And I want to grab the Red one when they finally release another batch of those. Also got 2 different of the Firefly Stripe Series. OMG Even better. Firefly is CRUSHING IT!

I never liked the way the upper horn was shaped on the musicman eddie guitars, very telecaster-ish, I always liked the peaveys the most. They are exceptionally nice guitars though and the sterlings are great too.

It is very tele shaped because originally it was going to be for Albert lee and his signature EBMM guitar called the Albert lee AXIS! EBMM already had that body shape when eddie came along. so they showed it to EVH when he came onboard and he liked it. if you google EBMM EVH prototype you will see a pic of EVH playing a real early model and it has axis on the headstock!

@@countzero5150 Yeah and what is really strange is albert lee went with that really weird shape for the body for his sig guitar? it looks kind of like a half star or something? EBMM knowing he played tele's all those years thought Albert was after something very tele inspired but he was not at all! If you look at the EBMM Albert Lee guitar it is very, very far from a tele!😅
