I get a kick out of all the haters who A) don't get the point of this pedal, and B) likely could not tell the difference between these digital models and the real thing in a blind test. I have two of these alongside my mostly-boutique pedals on my board, and I use them for the purpose for which I believe they were intended... as versatile utility pedals. I can't put EVERYTHING on my board, but occasionally I used to think, "I wish I had my RAT onboard for this solo" or, "My Dimension C chorus would sound great in this bridge part" or "what I really need to kick on during this chorus is an OCD." Now, I have my Xtomps for those times when I'm looking for that particular pedal in that particular part of that one song. Are they meant to replace your pedals... I don't think so. They're meant to give you some flexibility as a PART of your existing setup. They're the Swiss Army Knife for your pedalboard... it doesn't replace your toolkit, just enhances it. Rather than bring a 6-foot long pedalboard to a session, I bring my fly board with a couple of Xtomps and when the producer wants a particular effect I don't have on the board, chances are I can Bluetooth it to an Xtomp and we're good!

Noticed some sneaky Stevie Ray Vaughan in there. Good choice Shane!

Good review/demo Shane. The pedal does offer quite a variety of effects.

I was reading another website while hearing the demo and when you started with the 8 bit simulator I though for a second my headphones were broken xD Also the Corvino turned out great.

There are a few key things that most Xtomp reviews miss… in most cases because there have been upgrades to the firmware since the review was completed. FIRST, the amp models now all have optional and appropriate cabinet simulations built-in (For instance, the “Marshell” has a 1960-like 4x12 sim.) If you use the Xtomp's Right output, it includes the cab sim (so you can go directly to your board/interface) while the Left output is designed to give you the character of that amp through any clean amp and cab you’re putting it through. SECOND, most of the delays have a tap tempo function!! Just hold the single button down, tap your tempo, and, as a bonus, the halo LED will flash at that tempo. THIRD, there are new models coming out every month and they are all FREE to download. It's July 2nd, 2018, and I JUST finished D/L'ing the latest update with three new models… a new cab, new distortion pedal and a new ‘vintage mic’ sim. There are new things every month so, depending on how recently this review was posted, there will be a few to DOZENS more models available now. To check out ALL the current models, install the app on your phone, go to setting and hit update and it will have everything currently available.

Nice, I had no idea that was a thing on these. Been considering adding one to my setup to give me more options with my existing multieffects/cab sim.

Great demo and I love your channel but just wanted to comment that some looking at a pedal review might prefer a dry amp with no reverb.

Did not like the modulation effects. I thought they where way too digital software like. Though its hard to get a real gauge on it through youtube audio compression and all the harsh clipping that occurs. Also with all modulation peddles its in the tweaking of the knobs to hit the sweet spot and i doubt you have the time to really spend lots of time doing that. Cheers and loving the videos.

Come on guys let's be serious we live in probably the greatest time in history to be a musician in addition to all the wonderful vintage gear that's out there if you have the money to buy it there are countless small Builders out there making wonderful instruments that really are as good as anything that anyone ever built and priced accordingly we have great digital amplifiers we have devices like this that will make all sorts of sounds you know you don't really need an auto water and a ring modulator on your pedalboard all the time or a flanger unless you're the Van Halen cover band but it's nice to have we have analog stuff that's hand-built by the gods we have stuff like this we have cell phones that will record things that are apps that you can get for cell phones that blow your mind my phone's at tuner it's a metronome I can download any song and I can learn to play it instantly well with practice if there was only an app that could give me Talent I think they're working on it

Nice playing, but way too much reverb to give an idea of the actual tones...
