So, since I first commented this, my opinion has changed slightly. I no longer only wear Arthur's hat. I either wear Arthur's hat or no hat at all. And when I play as John I either wear John's hat, Arthur's hat, or no hat at all. It's also worth mentioning that I hardly wear any other clothes besides the gunslinger and cowboy clothing sets.

Like I said I didn't mind that you can't do that same minigame over and over again like in RDR1. For me, duels should be special events that occur only occasionally and I respect Rockstar's choice to implement them in the way they did in RDR 2. To each their own though.

For those who really like the duels, whenever in free roam a guy aims a gun at you, if you focus on them, and slightly while r2/rt, you r hand will go to your holster, and when you relase, deadye will instantly activate on its own, and it's just like a duel. you can shoot there gun out, that off, or kill them. It's really fun to mess around with. Especially when the law is pointing a gun at you, and it says reach for weapon on bottom right.

That ain't the same though as that isn't a duel it's just attacking someone. A real duel is when two people are both prepared to shoot, if you hold rt and then enter deadeye and they try to shoot that's not them dueling that's them defending themselves. I wish rdr2 had more duels in it like rdr1. Where in rdr1 if you were caught cheating you would be forced to duel the man who caught you cheating. But in rdr2 there is non of that. Only time you duel is in a mission or side mission or those random encounters but not only can you do those once but they aren't very common and on a second playthrough it feels like the exact same thing. So I gotta be salty to rockstar for not going far with the duelling system

In Red Dead 1 I liked that the meter showed you whether or not you can disarm someone in a duel. If you targeted the hand and the meter doesn't shoot up enough, that means you gotta kill them. Fun fact I found out from another video- you can do the quickdraw at any time in freeroam, as long as you aren't already in combat. You just have to hold R2 lightly and it'll start filling up, and you'll draw directly into dead eye.

Why the heck you lose honor when you kill gunslinger in random encounters ? Also when you rob people in trains, you lose honor, but there's a mission where Arthur robs a train with Sean and John, he beats the passengers but then we don't lose honor why !!?? Rockstar should fix honor system. It's too sensitive.

I don't think your supposed to kill them, I think your supposed to knock the gunslingers weapons out of their arms, and most missions don't really do Honor, that's why.

Here you go on a train robbery with Sean and John, plus Arthur beats the passengers, but he doesn't lose honor. Then why in free roam, when I rob passengers(WITHOUT HARMING THEM) I lose honor ??

Minor Spoiler: There's another one too in Roanoke Ridge, if you do the random events/side missions for the guys building new train tracks. At the second encounter three guys (probably hired by Cornwall) are camping there, so the company can't legally go on with the tracks. Arthur confronts and antagonizes them a bit, then pretends to defuse it and leave, only to turn around shortly afterwards and challenge one of them.

If you shoot the guns out of the characters hand, they do something quite interesting. Granger - Falls over and the knifes he takes out, slips from his hand and lands in his face. Flaco - The gun blows up as his gun is chambered with explosive rounds. Midnight - He pulls out a cattleman revolver and shoots himself. Belle - Nothing, just help her defend her accommodation from bounty hunters.

One time in like chapter 6 i went all the way back to valentine and there was a draw challenge thing and i just found a new great horse. When i was drawing my horse was in the way, and i couldn't shoot the guy or else I'd kill my horse, he ended up killing me.

I remember in rdr1 that dueling was one of the big things. Always got a good amount of honor and fame when I got the gun our of the opponents hand. Shame they didnt really improve the system and only have 11 fights in there

Rdr1 had far better dueling and bounty than in rdr2. The bountys were endless and gave you some good money and if you ever wanted to duel you could either be approched by someone or by getting caught at cheating in poker. In rdr2 I believe there's only like 11 times where you can duel, and the bountys are scripted and end after like 2 or 3 at most. I remember on first playthrough when I first found out about the bountys in valentime I was really excited. But after the bounty with the lady killer there were no more appearing. This happens in every town like strawberry, Blackwater, Saint Denise and tumbleweed. Limited and scripted is what the dueling and bountys in rdr2 are
