When using a floor jack to lower and raised the tank, put a piece of plywood on the floor jack arm to spread the tank weight and keep the tank more level

Thanks for video, I need to replace my 1993 C1500 pump as well, pump is allowing backflow when parked and makes it hard to start, gotta click that switch multiple times to prime or give it shots of starter fluid.

Just finished my 91 Chevy 1500. I found it a lot easier to put the truck on on a jack stand on the rear frame.. then let the tank drop slow with a jack. The driveshaft stayed in and was helpful guiding the tank back in. Took my a day but not that hard.

I liked your video it was helpful no doubt . But I have a 1994 gmc sierra c1500 5.7 liter . Mine has 1 strap and a strap that is some what different on one end with a bracket that has 4 bolts coming off the frame. It kinda got dark on me because I give the true meaning for shade tree mechanic . I’ve learned all my wrench turning breaking down on side of the road and get it fixed to make it back to the house . I just finished my 93 c1500 a few days ago. My truck had a double whammy, head gasket blew, and the fuel pump only had 5lbs of pressure...

Don’t that burn the pump out with no gas to lubricant it ?

Nice job getting it back on the road! I'm going to be replacing the fuel pump on my '94 Chevy pickup soon also. I see your US Motor Works pump is about $71 today and the Delphi is $154 on Rockauto. Is your USMW pump still running ok? I'm leery of the low cost chinese pumps. Seems like a fair number of people online say they don't last, fail in months. But I noticed your box did say "OEM Qualty." And we know those chic-comms would not lie, right? 😁

Haha well as of right now the pump is still going strong i figured there's always that chance of getting bad parts so i just went ahead and got the cheaper one lol

guess I better get the strap hooked up on the ol sierra ,before the snow flies,I got a heavy hold down ratchet strap on it now .3/4 ton plow truck getting to old to be plowing with the atv. I don't want to be found like the frozen mountain man in Jeremia Johnson ha ha ..

I had an old ford pick up with a mechanical fuel pump $14.99 and two bolts you are smart to rig up those lines they overcharge for every thing these days so they can make the$800.00 a month payment on the new H.D. truck HA HA HA I'm driving a 95 silverado that keeps on going with over 200,000 miles those are good trucks except for the cracking frame issue . mines not there yet min'es maroon I'd like to find a hunter green one 4x4 3/4 ton. I did have a 79 bronco that was the color of your truck back in the day ..

Maybe better to raise the truck bed but still need to put wood blocks so the bed doesn't fall.

Tanks are cheep, I would just replace the hole thing .These trucks are low presser (15 to 25 psi) you can use rubber fuel line or big metal brake line trucks after 1994, The 1995 and up (VOR-TECH) engines are 60psi and you should use hard lines " In Line Tubing Co" sell inexpensive kits for these trucks. p.s. : did you know you can put a 25 gallon tank in a long box 88-98 c/k but you can't put a 34 gallon in a short bed .I Put a 25 gal in my K1500 st/cab long box I like it more room to work under the truck cheaper to fill up too ****
