In the last question ; 7th entry, how come "shares forfeiture a/c credited with 240" when sir himself had us write it "amount received (face value)" by applying this is logic the amount was supposed to be 200 (40×5) right?! Anybody who can clear my doubt ??

Let me try to help you, 1.) Umm u r right that the money on premium (if received) will not be included 2.) Share forfeiture Mai hum likhte hai ki kitna Paisa mil gya hai shareholder se but Mila hua premium include nhi karte So in our question Hume Mila hai 288 (application money ×share applied) =48 × 6= 288 288 Mai premium bhi include hai But Hume Dena that 240= 40×6 ( including premium) Excess money humne application ke liye Diya 48 So yhn par hum share forfeiture Mai only 200 consider karenge excluding premium Ab Hume allotment par dene the 80 rs=40×2 isme bhi premium include hai jisme we 40 RS face value hai aur 40 RS premium hai Jo humara excess money that vo bhi shareholder me hi lgaya tha aur hum share forfeiture mai vo Paisa likhte hai Jo shareholder be Diya premium ko hata Kar Ab Jo shareholder me extra 48 RS the us se 40 ka allotment Pura de Diya Is tarha allotment ka 40 RS bhi include hoga Bacha 8 RS vo Baki Bache 40 ki premium Mai lagega Aur ab premium the jayega 32 ,Jo share holder me nahi Diya Par hum 8 RS ko add nhi karenge forfeiture Mai kyunki ye ek premium ke liye Paisa hai So 200 on application and 40 on allotment= 240 Not including premium of 40 RS on application and 8 RS on allotment =48 Now 240+48=288( money given by shareholder on application) hope it's clear now😊

You might be thinking that the answer should be 240 But your approach is wrong you might be thinking 40×6 No it is not, , in share forfeiture we right total money received from forfeited shareholder excluding premium but we received 288 from shareholder Now let's see the distribution of this amount and we will exclude received Money from premium We needed 240 RS on application( 200 (application) (+)40(premium)) Now 288-240=48 We needed 80 rs on allotment (40 allotment and 40 premium) Now humare pas shareholder ke 48 RS Bache hai in paiso se hum manenge ki shareholder ne 40 RS allotment ke de diye aur 8 RS premium ke but 32 RS premium ke rhe gaye So 40 RS allotment ke bhi to diye na ki premium So 200+40=240 Ap logo ne pro rata or dhyan nhi Diya Hint: excess adjustment...
