You have to look at it this way: back, like 50 to 80 years ago, if they could just push a skid road in with bulldozers, it was fast for them to skid 1 to 3 big logs with an arch behind a bulldozer. They did this because, back then, I would say 60% or more of today's yarder ground was logged, most likely by bulldozers.

That winch is awesome. I'm not sure if you can share the price (I can always speak to the guys themselves I suppose) but what sort of range are we looking at? I'm interested in matching this with one of the smaller Menzi Muck spider excavators

if you want your door to stop, take the long black cover off that covers all the linkage for the inside door handle, get a pool noodle from walmart and cut it up and start shoving it behind the linage and put cover back on, it works for the seat too, my door doesnt make a sound now

is there any particular reason you run a bar saw so much more than a hot saw? just curious, seems like the hotsaw is a lot more productive in dense forest with smaller trees, and a barsaw works real good on larger stuff when its more open? never ran a buncher anywhere other than farmsim lol
@wantowski98717 күн бұрын
I prefer using the hotsaw, depends on the job if I need to cut and log the wood to a specific location then that’s where my falling head comes into play
@WoodCutr117 күн бұрын
@wantowski987 gotcha, hadn't really thought about it, but it does seem like the barsaw would do really well just moving logs, hotsaw can't pick up off the ground efficiently Just my observation, thanks!
@wantowski98717 күн бұрын
@WoodCutr1 yea you gotta get creative with the hotsaw when moving logs around

What’s your thoughts on the tigercat falling head vs the southstar? Seen you’ve ran both and our company was looking at getting the southstar one on a 959M tilt machine. If you have anything else worth mentioning about falling heads in general, feel free to. Thanks
@wantowski9872 ай бұрын
I wouldn’t recommend a southstar falling head lol I had nothing but problems and our other one on a 568 has lots of problems too, few issues on my Tigercat head, 2 rotate motor seals and 2 grab arm cylinder seals that’s it, might have pressure set to high 🤔 Tigercat is all hydraulic to the head and no electrical, southstar has both and I always had electrical issues! Honestly I would go with a fl100 from Waratah or a Tigercat head if it was up to me
@FreeRange3102 ай бұрын
@ Thanks for the info. Deere probably wouldn’t put a tigercat head on their machine lol, so it’s either the waratah/deere or southstar head.
@wantowski9872 ай бұрын
@FreeRange310 deer and Waratah are the same company so I’d go for yellow or red lol
@FreeRange3102 ай бұрын
@ Yeah the color is the only difference lol. Probably keep the yellow theme going for us since we don’t have anything red. Thanks again
