Thank you once again Graeme. Excellent video as usual and hopefully you will be able to do more. Any topic of your choosing would be great. Your "story" about getting to where you are now was both interesting and inspirational. Your are correct in saying one step at a time just now, but be fully prepared for when things get better for us all. I hope you can go back to flying relatively unscathed in this fast changing world. One big observation I have taken away from this series and the others you've done, is that, I think you'd make a superb training captain and if that's something you're already doing it's easy to see why. Right, I'll go and try to repeat your flight to Tiree with Glasgow diversion, then it's only a 15 mile drive home! :)

Thanks for your nice comment and I'm glad you enjoyed the video series. I'll use your comment as supporting evidence if I ever apply for a training position! To be honest I'd prefer to get my instructor rating for Single Engine and do that as nothing really beats the satisfaction if introducing new pilots to flying. We'll see how the next few years go.

Ok...where shall i begin... First off Graeme, thank you so much for all the time and effort you've put into this. I've said it before, and i'll gladly say it again...This TBM-900 Series is the best i've ever seen! ..hands down!..I've got now nearly 700 hours in the TBM from HotStart, and still you have learned me so much! I really belive the TBM is the best GA airplane that is develped for any sim! It's just incredible, and versitile. I've got nearly 20 yrs of experience in filghtsims, and i've never seen anything even near the TBM!....Now, i really hope you get back up there, cuz the way you speak of it, it's so clear that flying is your passion. The industry will recover, but it will take some time. I am a stockholder in Norwegian Air Shuttle, and yes, i've lost money, but atleast we saved the company. That in mind i know that the future is sorted, and i can yet again enjoy flying around the world. Again, Thank you so much, and im not a shy guy, so if you were here, i would give you a hug!! Even if you didn't like it! :D ... But it's not the time to give out hugs really, these days.. so im gonna send you a virtual one! I really can't express how grateful im am for this Series!! Stay save and healthy, protect your love ones, and i will surely pick up all your content in the future! (sorry for my bad english, as im from Norway)

Thanks for the virtual hug, and the nice comments. Yes the TBM is almost certainly the best GA aircraft in any sim I've flown. I do love flying so it's horrible to see what's happening to all the airlines at the moment. Hopefully the next six months will show some improvement for everybody. Take care, and perfect English!

Dear Graeme, thank you very much for another excellent video. I watched it yesterday some hours later it was uploaded and enjoyed it very much. As you know, I learnt from you when I transitioned from the B737 to the A320, and have to say that your tips helped me a lot than as well as now. I think you would be an excellent line training captain for the way you explain procedures, your attention to detail and your calmness and clearness. Sadly my airline at Spain is like any other in Europe and let's see what happens next. And as you, I started really late flying, so I find myself very much tied to your flying background as well. Thank you again and please keep doing more series if you can, I am always learning new things from you. In the meantime I will review your airbus, MD and IGEX series again.Best regards.

I'll keep my fingers crossed for you and the airline Sajeel. It's just horrible what is happening to the industry. Thanks for your nice comments and I hope you like the rest of the videos. The IXEG series is very old now, and not as structured as the other videos, but it's still a great aircraft to fly. I never got to fly the real thing, only about 50 hours on a 737 FNPT.

Thanks for your kind comment Bruno, Yes best case for me now is a quieter summer than expected. Worst case - who knows? Regardless I've had a lot of fun with the TBM and have been considering what to do next. When I'm working I tend to be quieter over the winter than in the summer, so maybe going forward a video series with a simple aircraft when I'm busy, with something more complex over Winter and Spring. We'll just need to see how it goes.

Thanks very much, I'm very glad you like the series, and she deserves more exposure. I'd always considered the TBM as a bit of an "ugly duckling". She has that odd Socata tail section and the long nose - but I've really changed my mind having spent so long with this sim. Your visual model is outstanding, it makes spending time with the aircraft so enjoyable, and it's rare to see such fantastic visual and systems modelling in the same aircraft. @ReflectedRealitySimulations
@ReflectedRealitySimulations 4 жыл бұрын
Glad you've been enjoying the TBM Mike. I don't tend to do emergency procedures as they would take almost another video series. I'm also trying to remember real world procedures for 1 airliner and 3 single engine types so it gets a bit difficult! However, I've been considering trying PilotEdge with maybe the default 172 and REP to begin with, then the TBM for some IFR work. That or the Torquesim Islander.

Great Video, and conclusion to the TBM series. Let me just say what a great bit of story telling you did. I thoroughly enjoyed hearing about your flying career. These are strange times to say the least. My question is, what's next? Obviously you could make a 20 part series with the TBM fairly easily. I truly hope that you are going to still continue to make simulator content. I would love to get a sneak peak into the next series. Maybe the a320 neo or ultimate. Maybe the boeing 757/767 professional? Please tell me there is something else on it's way? Thank you for making such great simulator content. I can speak for a lot of aviation/simulator enthusiasts out there when I say that your videos are second to none. I say someone would be hard pressed to find a better instructional/training video/s on youtube. Hotstart, heck TBM for that matter would be happy to see how you have represented this aircraft. Thanks again Graham Cant wait to see what's next.
@ReflectedRealitySimulations
@ReflectedRealitySimulations 4 жыл бұрын
Thanks, I hope to make some more content soon. Probably some smaller GA stuff next as I'd really like to do a single engine piston series. I was leaning towards the default 172, maybe with REP, but I'm also playing with the PWDT Zlin at the moment, which has a lot of potential. After that maybe the Torquesim Islander. We'll just need to see what the future brings!

@@ReflectedRealitySimulations I recently purchased the M20 Mooney series. It is fairly nice. With hotstart setting the bar in the TBM900 for GA aircraft, it's hard to fly anything else. I hope that these other developers start using the TBM as the benchmark for what to strive for when creating new GA aircraft. I have no problem paying $75 bucks for a plane when its modeled like the real thing. Having more GA aircraft as "study level" will be great for simmers everywhere.

Very nice and useful work as usual. Thanks. Also what do you think about Carenado-PC12-XP11?
@ReflectedRealitySimulations
@ReflectedRealitySimulations 4 жыл бұрын
I've afraid I've not flown the Carenado PC12. I've had the SR22 and B58 in X-Plane 10. Carenado aircraft do look nice, but based on my experience from a few years ago the flight dynamics are a bit odd. The SR22 just would not trim correctly and had some odd pitch down effect, I gave up with it after a few hours. Justflight had a TB20 which had almost exactly the same issues - to the point I wondered if they were either the same designer. The B58 was better with the Simcoders REP pack. I would hope their PC12 is a fair bit better than the SR22 as it's a newer model, and I understand that there's a REP pack available for it too. Do you have the PC12? If so, what do you think about it?
@aeysim
@aeysim 4 жыл бұрын
@@ReflectedRealitySimulations I don't have a PC 12 but I'm thinking of buying it. But Hot Start TBM 900 has priority. I'll take CPC 900 first. I also want to get your opinion, I bought Thranda Quest Kodiak v2, I also bought Simcoders REP package. However, I have ITT problems after the REP pack. ITT is too high. The engine will not start. I'm waiting for ITT heat to drop. I wrote to the Kodiak REP forum today, no answer has been received yet. (forums.x-plane.org/index.php?/forums/topic/203634-itt-not-cooling-when-aircraft-not-in-use/)

Thank you Graeme, much appreciated as always. BN2 series when 1.1 released?
@ReflectedRealitySimulations
@ReflectedRealitySimulations 4 жыл бұрын
I'm really enjoying it Gareth, waiting to see what 1.1 brings. I've been considering a smaller GA aircraft for a few videos before the Islander - and there's still quite a bit of research I need to do about flying a transport type piston twin as they don't have the same performance requirements as an airliner - I've been struggling to see how a 500m runway is possible for public transport ops, but they are! It would appear that, for certification, an engine failure does not need to be considered before 300ft which opens up even more questions. But yes, in the near future I'm planning an Islander series!

Can you explain the ICE condition? In the POH I see 5C or below and weather with fog, clouds or rain or on the ground below 5 and with ice or snow. if I fly at - 20 with clear skies I have no problems? thanks!
@ReflectedRealitySimulations
@ReflectedRealitySimulations 4 жыл бұрын
Indeed Alessio - no clouds, no problem! Once you're up on top of the cloud layer you should be fine, just be mindful of the Inert Sep of having been in icing conditions in the climb - any ice remaining on the unprotected parts of the airframe (like the wing fence from the video) then use the separator to protect the engine.

Ignition, Inert Sep, Prop and Windshield De-Ice all on before entering icing conditions. The manual also states airframe de-ice on, but I think you could leave that until ice buildup is confirmed - although there's no harm in turning it on with everything else.

i've run this scenario twice, and i cannot get a capture of "vertical track" before PU23I, even though I am set up EXACTLY as you are. Even if i ignore NOT getting that warning, and push "VNV", I still don't descend. What gives? I finally hit "VS" but I come in way too high. The whole lack of vertical track capture and why the laminar G1000 misses it so much is alarming...I hope i am simply doing something wrong, but, if I am, I cannot find it.
@ReflectedRealitySimulations
@ReflectedRealitySimulations 4 жыл бұрын
Hi Jason, It’s the APR mode you need rather than VNav to fly the final descent. After pushing APR make sure you get the GP/V FMA. For using Vnav earlier in the descent you need ensure there is suitable altitude target on the flight plan. I think Part 2 shows this in a bit more detail.

@ReflectedRealitySimulations

Did you know there is a reason for A-Z rather than QWERTY? Garmin didn't really seem to understand that part of the human interface. When you have a waypoint coded, for example, "R183M", then that's radial 183 at a distance of 13 miles - M being the 13th letter of the alphabet. With any airliner FMS and rows of 5 letters you can just read down the keypad rows 5, 10, 13. But with Garmin going for 6,5,6,5,4 it means you need to count each individual letter or do (admittedly still simple) adding up when you're verifying the coding of a procedure.

@@ReflectedRealitySimulations That's really interesting; I'd have never guessed there'd ever be a good reason for an ABCDE layout!
