Thank you for creating this video. Without this video I would never been able to do a bottom and top end rebuild on my 05 trx 450r. Service manual not descriptive enough. Thanks again

Thank you for this video! I bought a 05 450r didn’t know that much about it had some trouble and I used this video to split my cases and fix the issue. You covered literally everything except the kickstart for mine. While I still had the service manual to go by I found this video to be more helpful then the manual. Thank you!

"17:33" Do you clean the oil strainer every so often as part of maintenance?

We usually just do it as part of splitting the cases.

Thank you for the detailed video! I've got a stock 05 450r that overheated and popped the head gasket. I'm expecting the head to be at least slightly warped. Any advice on who to send the head to?

I would like to know if the crankshaft bearings go in an exact position or in any way

For 04/05 TRX OEM crank bearings - it doesn't matter which way they go in

I have a question do you have to split the motor to change the oil pump I see the star part inside the motor once you slide the gear out does that come off as well ?
@HottBoysRacing5 ай бұрын
Yes you have to split the center cases to change the oil pump. It's 3 pieces total.

What kind of engine oil are you using? Ceramic bearings?
@HottBoysRacing4 жыл бұрын
Motul 300v engine oil - and yes, this particular engine uses hybrid ceramic bearings throughout.

Hi in the middle of doing a rebuild on mine and I toughht everything was OK until I seen a post on Facebook off another person doing a rebuild forgot the d ring on the countershaft. This made me think have I done the same, do I need to open up the bottom end again to do this
@HottBoysRacing3 жыл бұрын
Are you talking about the rubber ring/seal that goes onto the countershaft behind the countershaft/sprocket spacer? If so, no need to split bottom end, you can just pull the spacer/bushing off from the outside and install the ring there.
@danielwalsh73103 жыл бұрын
@@HottBoysRacing that's good news thanks really appreciate it also which way would you install it round side out on the shaft??
@HottBoysRacing3 жыл бұрын
@@danielwalsh7310 - just to confirm, you are referring to part-num: 91201-ML3-873 (#35 on this diagram: www.partzilla.com/catalog/honda/atv/2005/trx450r-a/transmission ) correct? If so, I'm not sure for the "correct" orientation - but I think I've actually installed it both ways and haven't had it leak.

Why put the left bearing on the crank first ? Why not just install into the case? Are you using the updated 04-05 crank
@HottBoysRacing3 жыл бұрын
Definitely more than one way to do it - this is just how we prefer. And yes - for stock builds, always OE updated crank and bearings.

Hello, crankshaft seal, are you 29,9/44/7?? I am 30/44/7. Good video
@HottBoysRacing3 жыл бұрын
I'm not 100% sure - but you'll probably need to order and use the same size that came out of your engine

As far as I know, you can only get the collar with the right side bearing - OEM part number: 91008-HP1-672 - I use PartZilla

Why would my crank move when case bolts aren’t tightened but not when I tighten them? Anyone got any information?
@HottBoysRacing Жыл бұрын
Anything on the outside that would keep it from moving? right side gears? cam chain binding? stator/cover on? if not, i would check to make sure the bearings are seated all the way and check to see what the width of the crank is
