TRX450ER (Engine Tear Down Tips)

Yes a few things I did are not 100% Correct and I did say Bolts instead of nuts a few times. I mistakenly called the crank a Flywheel.

My 2012 TRX 450er has Metal gold shaving In oil filter and my top is a 510 big bore kit, I see ima have to watch your video and tear mine down step by step, and this will be my first time..

You helped me man lol, I understand the assembly of engines just my first time taking one apart. Took me 30 mins to find this video just for the 30 second clip for the cam tower. I'm down to the piston. Gonna start on pulling out the rest if the engine tomorrow.

Thank you so much for these videos man.. Bought a Honda CRF450 04 a month ago, the engine looks almost the same as this. Anyway, the seller tricked me and told me that the bike runs just fine and was a bit in a hurry. I tested it out and it started right up and it looks good. So anyway i bought it and weekend after that i wanted to change the engine and transmission oil so i tapped it out and checked the filter and it was full of silver metal shavings. Your videos will help alot thank you for all the good tips! 👌🙏

Hey glad to hear! Thanks for the comment. It's super common that people will find metal in the oil filter and then list the bike for sale and not ever mention it. I always pull oil filters before I buy anything.

I’m a little late to the party but I have a question for you judging by your video it’s hard to tell in the first frame but I have a 05 with split case by kick starter. Do I need to remove top end to split that side of the case.

I assume you're saying that the Case behind the Kick Starter is Broken? If so Yes you will need to remove the Top End in order to remove and replace the Case Half.

I have a question I just bought me a 09 450er and there’s a pipe that comes out the top of the more aimed towards the rear and it runs up under my seat it just drops water no filter or nothing on it is that normal or do I need something to be on the end of ig

Do you remember me. I asked if you had a camshaft for a XR250R. Well i need to know the valve lift and duration for a 1984 XR250R ive searched the internet and cant find it. Do you know it by chance

How do you get the counter balancer shaft out

if you're having trouble sliding it out you need to check if you removed the woodruff key. Also make sure that the Flywheel is removed before hand as well.

Is the engine stock if not what mods does it have

It was 85% Stock. It had a HRC Cam, CP 13:1 Piston and a Dasa Exhaust. When it's re assembled it will have a Stage 3 Hot Cam Fearra Intake Valves, Ported head, Dasa Exhaust and a +2mm bored Carburetor.

Not a 22mm socket Use 1 1/16 or a 27 or 28

Never good lol. With out those it will cause the head to slide around and wear down head gasket. Rockymountain atv/mc you cNn go to OEM Parts diagram find any part you need.

@@trxtech3010 yeah I ordered some yesterday, just sucks when you're excited to finish a build and something that stupid holds the show. 06', Wiseco 13.5-1, s2 hotcam, TC national ported head, 42.5 fcr, full empire shorty. Really stoked to see what itll do
