Modern combines the rotary straw walkers instead of the flat panels don’t help with balers getting decent pressure, John Deere’s 4 cylinder engines are oil burners, worked in Canada and you saw them with steamer machines in front of the balers

Well I’m from NSW australia and we do all our cuttings at night to minimise the fire risk and with our animals we usually keep the sprinklers going all day from 830am to roughly around 5/6pm whilst we relax during the middle of the day but we do go and check on the cattle every couple of hours or so depending on temperature

We called the lollies 'jubblys'. When the juice had gone, Id give the lump of ice to the dogs. Crunching ice still goes through my fillings 😖 Em's masterpiece is a grounded helicopter - good effort tho 👍 🚁😁

We have summer fire season restrictions here in Victoria, Australia. Usually over 40C most don't use hay equipment for the risk of causing machinery fires. How are the cattle going in the sheds? 🥵

Cattle look better in the sheds/ shade than those outside in the sun! Really good ventilation is key, and it’s been windy which is good for maintaining the airflow 😀

Hi joe we have been bailing 120-90 Massey bailer only been bailing in the morning packing up by 10 as we can’t make a good bale pressure shoots trough the roof and out comes a slack bale, better than wet straw I suppose! And there is a sponge like filter on the jcb somewhere in there can’t remember where about but fairly certain you have to take the front plastic off under the windscreen and it’s somewhere in there sorry it’s very vague but keep diggin you’ll find it!

Most people are baling from the very early hours to get good bales and reduce the risk of catching fire. How are the cattle coping that are more densely stocked than those we saw or shouldn’t I ask. Ours outside are fine but the ones in the shed were not happy, good job it’s just been mucked out and not many in. Crazy two days

Our cattle outside looked hotter than those in! There isn’t as much shade outside, and the ventilation in the sheds is really good, high roofs. Lots of wind today which helps a lot! 😀
