Welcome back to a new episode of rags to riches. In our previous episode we covered 2 grinding spots, one for mid levels and one high end spot. Today we're going explore another high end spot with great potential. This marks the episode 9 of the series, something that turned out to be very successful on this channel, apparently... you guys really enjoy the format where we combine Lore with Gold. In our latest video we said that if it reaches 3000 likes in the span of 1 week we're going to make a part 2, the video received 2500 in the first 48 hours and I though to make a similar challenge for this. If this clip reaches 3000 likes in 3 days I'm going to make a custom classic wow themed PC from and old office pre-build, complete with world of worcraft art, RGB and power to run most of the current games in 1080p. All this with budged of 300 Dollars. Getting back on topic, please check the timestamps in the description down below and without further ado, lets explore.
The reason we're venturing to this far-away land at the edge of the world is to slay spiders and scorpions. More exactly, Sand Skitterer and Stonelash Scorpid, mobs with levels between 54 and 56 and an appealing loot table. They are scattered across 30% of the silithus area, most of them in the north-eastern part of the map, right to the entrance from Un'goro. The spawn points are so abundant, this spot can host a couple of players. In terms of loot they drop, the table is quite balanced between grey items to vendor and white trade-goods to sell on the auction house, or even for further process with professions for a higher profit.
I've grinded this place with the hunter for the duration of 1 elixir of moongose, exactly 1 hour. The hunter was equipped with gear slightly better than a pre-best in slot setup. I dind't try to hard and was more like a chill grind, the mobs we're abundant and didn't need to follow a particular rotation. The fun part was that these mobs consistently drop the items you want, at one point in 1 minute I managed to obtain 4 ironweb spider silk.. one after another, which is pretty crazy.
Sold all the grey and green items to the vendor for 18 gold, with the meat obtained from the grind I crafted stamina and spirit food buffs. More exactly spider sausage which does not require spices and Mystery stew from the mystery meat. Sold the Ironweb silk with 1 gold 10 silver each. The Thick spider silk and shadow silk slightly above vendor price as they usually sell and the huge venom sack with 98 silver but keep in mind early game they could go cheaper. Made a total of 57 gold during the hour without getting any rare items or travelers backpacks. I could'have squeezed more from disenchanting or selling the greens to the auction house but for reasons of consistency they went to vendor. The only real issue with this grinding spot is the distance you have to travel, but I guess if you go for a 2 hour session and then heartstone back to sell your items it can still be a great way to earn some gold.

If you're a skinner (and especially a hunter), the best farming spot is the the elite dragonkin in the Burning Steppes. That's where I made my fortune in Classic (also didn't hurt that I was the only hunter on Silvermoon Alliance side that could make the Black Dragonscale Shoulders and Leggings, or at least was the only one supplying the AH). Silithus is fine for Horde players (fairly close to Orgrimmar), but not a fun spot for Alliance. That said, Silithus is the single best place to grind if you having mining, as the thorium veins in the silithid hives have the highest chance to drop arcane crystals.

my entire vanilla life of farming was spent farming essence of life in felwood or essence of air in silithus, it payed for my epic mount, hide of the wild and misc stuff needed for raiding + my 19. 29, 39 and 49 twink gear :)

On my last pserver I used this spot to grind a couple of levels in the mid to late 50s. Was a bit slower ofc due to level and gear but I was able to bring in an easy 30g pr hour

I think his guides showing the flame sack grind spots are underrated. When you consider pvp; grinding for ele fire would probably be worse unless you're in a group. I'd prefer consistent grinding spots which I think Frost goes for too. I wouldn't mind seeing a video for alternate spots to grind high demand mats (like ele fire)

I remember farming essence in felwood from the water elementals for my druid. Spent many hours there, and encountered loads of bots. This was around 2005 I think. If I'm not mistaken one essence was about 5-10g.

I remember a comfy mid 50s grind being with Scourge Warders and Cursed Mages who dropped Essence of Undeath and Greater Mana Potion like 4/5ths of the time. Not sure if the droprates will be the same in classic but if you wanted another video idea maybe you could look into it.

For me I killed the Tigers in swamp of sorrows for 3 levels straight till I could afford AND learn to ride,it worked out and the process sped up quite alot when a hunter in my guild actually skinned them and gave me the leather.

Hey, I am curious to see numbers for 2 spots I used to farm while I was leveling (way back then). The first is the Bloodfen Raptors in Northern Dustwallow Marshes (particularly in combination with skinning) for some pre level 40 money making and level grinding. The other spot were the Hatefury Satyrs in Northern Desolace. You talked about the Hyenas there and I have to say that I never farmed them but the Satyrs were a go-to. To be honest, the Satyrs were more for level grinding than money making but I believe I got a decent amount of greys and greens there to make it worthwhile. Curious what your take on these spots is.

Wow, you're description of the qiraji story and silithus is just epic. I don't think blizzards cinematics even laid it out that well. I remember going to silithus way back in the start of the game, long before there was twilight mobs or the cenarion base placed in there, it just felt like the most remote place in the game, and the blowing sand etc just added to its epicness. So it was awesome when all there was to do was mine thorium. I do remember wandering around out by the ahn qiraj gate back then, just wondering what was behind that thing since I knew nothing of lore in this game at that time, I just knew something amazing would be there one day. When my guild killed the world dragons, maws, and the dragon in moonglade and made the scepter to open it on Draka server, I finally got to see it all unfold. One of the best times in gaming...…..ever. So many memories. Long live Sinister guild!

Good videos for those wishign to start making gold on classic. But I'm kind of interested in making gold as I level, either by grinding or leveling professions. Being able to afford my mount when I hit lv40 would be quite something. I'd be interested in videos of how to many gold while leveling, if there are any spots where say, a mage could aoe grind or where you could grind with friends and loot some good items for sell or how some early game professions can make buck, such as crafting leveling gear or bags or some potions or food.

At Northdale me and my 2 magefriends grinded here from lvl 53 to 58. With Skinning and such. Everyone gained more than 300g with skinning, Disenchanting, 16 Slot bags ect. Very good slot :D
