I also did that bypass, and now it's working. (I hope this information will remain confidential ;) lol) Your video was crucially helpful. The way the thermal fuse is connected to the rest of circuit in your stove, is much more convenient, I should say... As a safety I decided that I will use it only to mid power...These kind of stoves are not ideal for boiling water and cooking spaghetti, but for other types of cooking they are useful. Ps. After Bypassing the thermal fuse, the thermostat will keep on working just fine, because it is just that bimetallic assembly integrated with the switch...it is interesting how it works.

I will never understand why manufacturers do not make hot plates that get hot enough to boil water, without by passing the thermostat. Even the most expensive one I have found will still not boil water. Sometimes a new one will boil until it gets broken in and then it quits.

Possibly they are manufactured at altitude where water boils at a lower temperature. I have one of these and yes it's super annoying. It stops just short. With the right pot and a lid it actually simmers

the thermal fuse is like any fuse. it gets blown by use. If you want the cooker heats to maximum then by pass the thermostat next to the switch. It will be useful to get most of the power of hot plate and you will be able to boil water.

I suspect that the thermal fuse of your second stove (in the video at 6:49) was under the second black rubber "envelope". The one on the right there. However, it has to be somewhere.

Can you determine whether a different kind of fuse will work and wire it in? Dumb right?

You need a thermal fuse for a certain temperature. Or you don’t. It depends on how brave you are.

Over temp thermal fuse, If the thermostat gets stuck on, it will start a fire without overtemp.
@bootsowen
@bootsowen 2 жыл бұрын
I can't imagine that it would go on fire by itself! It will get hot, if it is on a stone slab it will probably be fine. If it is on a bed of straw then could be dangerous. All of these things have a warning not to leave unattended. Do you worry about fire?

What is the thermal capacity or value, and if I canceled it and directly connected the circuit, is there any damager of damaging the heaterplate ?
@bootsowen
@bootsowen 4 жыл бұрын
I am afraid that I don't know the thermal fuse value. If you wire it directly there is a risk that if the thermostat malfunctions it will heat to a temperature hotter than it was designed for. Possibly a fire hazard.

@@bootsowen Actually I opened it up. It’s got some points system like a car with a primitive piece of metal that is acting as the thermostat when it gets hot. I put a normal on off switch on it. I was thinking to wrap the thermostat in Some heat repellent. Same as asbestos type. Some thing. To keep it cooler. So it doesn’t which off as soon.But the switch works for now. And it’s a piece of junk anyway. Just got to keep my ion it. Thanks for the reply.

Not to be rude or a jerk but honestly, if you can’t understand or deduce what is going on you probably have no business messing around with the internal components of anything electrical. Especially something that’s pretty much a direct ground; like a hot plate that can pull as much power as the breaker will allow or until it trips. You could be seriously hurt or hurt someone else. There are plenty of classes you can take online or classes that have been posted on KZbin you can take advantage of so you can get a better grasp of the individual electrical components typically found inside our everyday items so fixing them is not only less aggravating but safer and easier for you to troubleshoot. Repairing them is the easy part, now try designing a PCB, lol, thats on a whole other lvl. Lol
