Hi. One thing I've noticed it's when the monster puts his legs back into water and there is no interaction with the fluid, no splash. Besides that - this is awesome!

Yes! I specifically removed that part.

I loved that previous output from this character, hope this will also blow my mind.

The force on the water produced by such a creature, emerging from the depths of the ocean, would create an incredible tsunami flooding the ship. The creature needs to pierce the front of the ship with one "leg" to hold it in place. The second leg will pierce the back end to hold it in place, dominating the captured prey. What you do afterwards is entirely up to you 😉 Hope that this will help you in any way ✌️

Hey, thank you so much for this, it's actually really helpful to see the progress between versions. May I ask if you could share some details about the scale and particle separation you are working with here, specifically for the last iterations? It looks great by the way!
@HangYuriYangFX2 жыл бұрын
I typically don't have a specific particle separation for any sims.. I just look at the RAM usage. something around 100 GB of RAM(my machines has only 128GB) would be a good resolution. the scale is quite big, the ship itself is over 100 metres longs probably. so the scale is maybe around/bigger than 300*300 metres big.

wow, you're cool, that's amazing, can you give me the monster model?
@mohamadshammaa952 жыл бұрын
Great. Definitely feels large scale. 3:34 How did u add the stickiness of fluid?

Is it possible to do the creature animation in maya, import it to Houdini and then export the simulation result back to Maya for rendering? I’m not sure how the workflow between both softwares works.

Alembic should work!
@chafidrizki96993 жыл бұрын
Awesome job… I just wondering do you use maya for animation and houdini for vfx?
@HangYuriYangFX3 жыл бұрын
I think people use Maya for animation.. I didn't animated this haha! I only do FX

The only thing I don't get is why you would have him stop his hands in the point in the water to make it look like the Waters of solid surface strong enough for the monster to hold itself up on I mean it's water
@HangYuriYangFX Жыл бұрын
It’s just the anim that I have :)

Do you find 128 gb of ram to be enough or is it limiting for you?
@HangYuriYangFX2 жыл бұрын
For simulations, typically if 128GB isn't enough.. you probably need to work on optimise your sim or think of a different way. there are occasions that I will go over at work.. but you shouldn't need that much. but for rendering, it is a different story.

Where do I get this monster?

it is the rebelway fx challenge with the rookies

I mean if it's deep enough for the thing to swim all the way up and then climb out why the hell would the water be so shallow where the ship is I mean what's that like 7 to 10 ft
