This is one spectacular scene and presentation! Wow, 😲😮 I'm blown away! Respect to you guys! Sorry, but I have like a million questions now, because this is so fascinating :) Have you guys worked on any films or ads too? Also as a newbie in 3D myself, It would be really interesting and informative if you shared a few technical specs for this scene too, like: How many people worked on it. How much time it took beginning to end. The file sizes of the scene and the simulation. And what kind of system it took to work on and render this stuff. Thanks!

Tbh it's gonna take a long time to render even this short video because even big companies like pixar say that their 1 frame get's rendered in around 24 hours, so it means if a fully animated movie has 200000 frames, it will take 200000 days to render but it doesn't actually take too long for them because they have got many huge computers with tons of rendering power which takes them around an year to complete full rendering. They plan all the stuff before and it takes around 3 years to complete a movie. A single person cannot make an animation or fully CGI movie but you can create short videos like this at a little ease. Generally it takes 2 - 4 days to render these types of videos.

@@AmanKumar-ir3dt Big studios use lots of resources not because they absolutely have to, but because they can. They hyper-focus on getting the last 5% of performance when you could easily produce something 95% similar for a fraction of the cost and time. I recently rendered a complex library scene with 1 million polygons, 6 or so light sources, and 4k textures, on an a single RTX 3060, and it only took ~3 seconds per frame in Eevee. It takes skill to make Eevee look good, but it is not that hard. You could probably speed that up even more with the Unreal real time rendering engine.

@@AmanKumar-ir3dt Where did you learn one frame at Pixar takes 24 hours to render? That sounds insane and highly unlikely given the lack of iteration time that that provides. If anything they would focus their efforts on optimizing their renders to be faster. Why they come out with so many papers.
@realmoonknight
@realmoonknight Ай бұрын
@@AmanKumar-ir3dt It took for their 40k lights scene maybe but in general, envionments/fx stay under 3-4hrs per frame. Also, commercially these scenes are rendered on farms and with tiling where one frame can be rendered across multiple cpus. When they say it took a year, that's the total render time, now divide that by 2-3k render nodes running 24x7 it comes down to a day or so.
