@@owenlichtenberg7932 what? i havent said a word about danas situation. i was talking about ariels standpoint on the issue of "never" seeing a reason to hit a woman. NEVER? tf is that absolutist, black and white bullshit? the world isnt binary like that. im sure you can imagine a scenario where it would be moral to kill someone? so, "theres never a reason to kill someone" is an arguable statement and we all agree theres a gray area there... but "theres never a reason to hit a woman" is an end all be all that some people wont allow you even begin to refute. how tf is hitting a woman more taboo than murder in our culture? it used to be that way for me until a drunk woman assaulted me, then i was ridiculed for not defending myself. i didnt hit back, and i wouldnt hit back if it happened again... but i sure as fk saw a good reason to that night.

false, still till this day Ariel disputes that he did anything wrong in the UFC brock Lesner surprise promotion situation. And its very easy to understand who was wrong. UFC does 100% of its promoting by keeping everything in house. If ufc news drop without the company's approval its simply a case of an inside leak.

@@mikerhem1273 I was gonna answer this same thing. Most times I agree with Ariel..but the fact that he was acting like he didn't know what he did wrong makes me give him the side eye. The UFC, essentially puts on a show, that is like a movie. The Brock reveal, whether it was being spoken about or not was not for him to leak to anyone that didn't know. That would be like leaking the ending of a Marvel movie before the movie starts. He messed up that surprise and they were right to be mad at him

If Brock decided to come back and maybe because of his rep and relationships He found out first and made a tweet. Good Job. But you don't ruin a surprise part of the show, just to be the first to do it. That is not his job, and it lacks class, especially when you know it was a secret. There will always be those in the so called MMA media who will only ask the soft questions and never talk about the real important issues in MMA such as fighter pay because they don't want to annoy their daddy Dana. Typically, gigantic corporations such as ESPN will look the other way on domestic violence and racism if the person saying it is too important to them to lose. This will always exist. However, as long as shows like this and we have real journalists like Ariel around who are not afraid to stand up to bullies like Dana, we'll be fine. It brings balance. It's life. I'm really confused. I don't condone men hitting women. I believe in gender equality. But it seems to me as if equality is being represented as contingent on gender and that makes no sense. A fuller discussion about gender relationships is required in my view. It is not acceptable for a man to hit a woman, it should also not be acceptable for a woman to hit a man. I do believe that it matters that his wife struck him first. In his shoes perhaps I wouldn't have hit back, but we can't claim to live in a gender equal world if it's ok for a woman to hit a man and he is not permitted to respond. A modern imperative for women and a 'traditional' imposed on men is a nonsense. We have seen with the case of the Onlyfans model allegedly killing her partner; and Amber Heard physically and emotionally abusing Johnny Depp; that women are as capable of violence as are men. I find the outrage about this incident a little excessive. What are we doing here? Where does accountability begin for women. It should not be ok for a woman to strike a man, and I would like to hear more people talk about that too. To just focus on Dana is unjust. Again... in no way do I condone his actions but we must all come to a better understanding of this. I should also add that it was a poor choice to bring Ariel into this discussion. He is not a neutral party

Dana should not have slapped his wife back after she attacked him, as she was not a threat to him. “You NEVER hit a woman” is something ppl love to say seemingly without really thinking about what that means. To say “never” is ridiculous. Of course I’m not promoting abusing women, but women are plenty capable of becoming dangerous and a threat to a man’s safety in which case, anyone has the right to defend themselves against anyone.

ive let a woman hit me without retort. 2 different women. maybe 6 incidents (one was an ex)... both were obscenely drunk each time. i can tell you, saying never hit a woman is societal bullshit. its nice and virtuous, coming from people whove never experienced undue abuse by a woman. makes you feel like shit and people arent scared to make fun of you for getting hit by a woman after.

@@jamineamina5429 I do understand what you’re saying. All “hitting” is not the same. I too have been hit by women, although never super aggressively. Once kinda but there were substances involved and it was essentially supposed to be playful and not with malice. I never considered even playfully hitting back. But of course anyone should be able to consider there is a threshold for which a man can and perhaps must respond in kind to protect themselves. As an absolute it is eyewash. My point was Dana himself essentially said he lives by that rule
