yeah I didn't understand that, I'm probably missing something super obvious, but it sounded like they were saying if you have a finks, anafenza, seer, AND spider, you have an infinite life loss combo. So you'd have to assemble finks first, then scry to spider, and also specifically have annie to make it work.

#3, Ramunap excavator: Possibly the most relevant application of this is in valakut titan decks running summoner's pact. This is probably worth a one-of in the sideboard, as you essentially have 4 copies due to Ramunap being green. similar to the enchant/artifact hate green creature

Abrade might not be the most efficient artifact removal available but the fact that it has creature removal stapled on does give a niche. However it comes into modern at a time where Lightning Bolt is the worst it's ever been, if that changes the power of abrade will also go up.

I think it would be because then you're playing the combo turn 5 and waiting till turn 6 for it to lose summoning sickness - you can speed it up with ramp but using Collected Company to help find it and just play a general creature deck at the same time seems better.

On the double moon walkers plan, I feel like making it a tooth & nail deck as well (since samut herself is a 4 mana tooth and nail with doubling season out).

Imo Samut is easily the best card in Double Moon Walkers and instant 4 of. It wins the game in nearly any board state with Season down as you can just ultimate to get another Samut + another walker, ultimate new Samut for 3rd Samut + another walker etc. Tamiyo usually being one of the other walkers means you can get Emrakul with your last Samut and a planeswalker that can bounce Emrakul, allowing you to actually get the cast trigger on Emrakul since you cast him for free with Tamiyo emblem. Arlinn Kord then let's you haste your Emrakul too so even without nahiri you are guaranteed to get Emrakul haste with the added bonus of getting his cast trigger same turn + getting 4 more walkers for free. Samut is the absolute nuts and best card for double moon walkers hands down.

Regarding scavenger ground in tron decks, coming in untapped is a huge advantage compared to bojuka bog because it is much better in an opening hand. Furthermore, being able to sit on it instead of having to use it the moment you play it lets you wait on the best chance to use its ability. Obviously not a strict upgrade given the cost and sacrifice to activate (and not making black mana if you are on GB tron or another black deck) but it could be a real contender in tron and other eldrazi decks.

I like Hollow One with cards like Faithless Looting. Turn Two, play Faithless Looting to draw 2 and discard 2, and follow it up with a Hollow One for 1 mana. That sounds good to me.

I could see a single copy of Hostile desert in maybe a mono white hatebears deck with 4 ghost quarter and 3 tech edge, but that's about it that I can think of. Ramunap is going in my G/W hatebears deck. I'm excited to buyback canopy and draw cards and continually ghost quarter people.

Wouldn't you be able to run hostile sands in a black deck alongside Urborg, Tomb of Yawgmoth? That way it taps for black but can also work with fetches? It sounds a little round-a-bout though, kinda of a long way to get 3/4 without sacrificing land spots in a deck.

Obelisk Spider doesn't replace Redcap, as I assume you mean to use it as a way to drain with Kitchen Finks. It just means you have a 4-card combo rather than a 3-card combo with one meh piece. Unless I'm missing something, it definitely does NOT replace Redcap or anything else.

can't compare those two. This gets both triggered and activated for 1 more mana that can't be countered, and it's a 3/1 Flyer. It's actually a much better card lategame. Turn 1 Mana dork then turn two play land and pass should make any opponent playing fetch lands very very afraid. This card will see play. I've already put it in my Mono blue stompy deck in Legacy and it's A+. BTW seth that deck would be great to feature on your site.

i think solemnity in commander can work i'm working on a build with Zur the enchanter as the commander stand in to fetch solemnity and it just mite work is has the advantage of being able to pull a lot of any lock you need and make solemnity as consistent as your commander its a bit janky but i think it can work in the right group

Solemnity is not going to be played in Ad Nauseum. It disables Pentad prism, which is no bueno. There's not that much room in the deck for a 3 mana enchantment that doesn't help you cast or win off of ad nauseum.

I don't think Fraying Sanity is a good card. Reason: To answer cards like Emrakul/Shuffle, you run *Leyline of the Void* and/or *Rest in Peace*. These cards give a replacement effect of preventing cards from going to the graveyard, exiling instead. If I'm following the rules text properly, no cards should go to the graveyard. This would mean Fraying sanity wouldn't trigger. The two-card combo is nice but to make it work, a package of 3-4 Nihil Spellbomb is necessary against shuffle effects. Furthermore, bringing a 2-3 Surgical's total into the deck/board would be helpful. You may say 5-7 cards is too much to support a two-card combo, but I think it's just enough. Take into account you wouldn't run many Traumatize. Fraying Sanity might be a 3-4 in the deck. Whenever an opponent: discards a card ~ Mill 1 card. (Inquisition, Thoughtseize, etc.) casts an Instant/Sorcery Spell, it usually goes to the graveyard ~ Mill 1 card. has one creature die ~ Mill 1 card. (Wrath a board of 10 opponent creatures: Mill 10 cards?) Planeswalker, Enchantment, Artifact is destroyed/sent to the graveyard ~ Mill 1 card. This Curse pretty much means the opponent is playing with only half his deck. Surgical might be an optimal main deck card to use with it.

I really don't think that Fraying Sanity plus Traumatize is even close to being good. That's wining on turn FOUR. Why do that when you can slot Sanity in Ashiok's place, since she is the worst card in the deck. Mill can already win consistently by turn 4, earlier if they get Archive Traps in hand. Adding Traumatize gums up the curve, so Sanity will just be the top end of mill lists.

Our Lord and Savior Mountain Dew Supernova It doesnt really do anything with the first two abilities. Other planeswalkers do atleast 3 dmg or draw cards etc with first abilities. This one doesnt do anything alone (needs creature for first ability) and -2 for 2dmg isnt really good.

Stifle is much better in legacy because decks run way lower land counts, IMO.

Stifle would be a staple in Modern if it was legal, but having a lower land count doesn't hurt (although Legacy is a weird format, because everyone has at least Brainstorm and often Ponder as well decks run like they have a lot more lands than they actually do).

True, I just feel like the extra two mana really hurts its viability, even with the card draw and situational flyer tacked on. Being able to stifle an opponent's third land drop doesn't seem nearly as good as stifling their turn one plays, but then again, I wouldn't be surprised if the card showed up somewhere, just because of the unique effect.

yeah no, scavenger grounds is the easiest modern viable card. It's kinda cheating to select, considering eldrazi tron will easily slam one into the 75. Edit: looking at this top 10, it's complete crap. Most of the honorable mentions are more viable than things like hostile sands, djeru, splendor, spider, samut. Solemnity doesn't even stop melira-finks combo, it enables it. Ballista and Druid, yes those are countered, but it's not worth that because as I said, It enables melira-finks. And there is no way solemnity will be played in ad nauseum, because pentad prism and gemstone are just better. Solemnity will possibly see legacy play, but not modern.
