Thanks a lot for the video. The concept is very clear, your pace is also good. Don't worry about the background music, it's not bad. I can hear you without any difficulty. I have one question, in 14:25 you said that the laminar should not distort and it should be 90 degrees. From this, do you mean that since elements are very small and thin, it comes under Euler Bernoulli beam theory? Because we take this assumption in Euler Bernoulli beam and do not hold good in Timoshenko beam . Thanks in advance. Keep it up. Great video. :)
@arsitech-ltd4 жыл бұрын
Dear, It is lamina not laminar, I meant to say the dotted lines in the element during bending. And thanks for appreciating my work.

Thank you so much for your work sir, can I please ask in Abaqus, is the distortion control has the same function as the hourglass control?
@arsitech-ltd3 жыл бұрын
Dear, Both are different.
@wujohn5983 жыл бұрын
@@arsitech-ltd Thanks for your reply. The reason for my question is from another possible error in Abaqus due to bad meshing: “ deformation speed to wave speed ratio exceed 1”. In my case, both hourglass and the aforementioned error can be solved by either using distortion control or hourglass control. So just wondering if these two control parameter have the same function, such as both of them constrain the maximum element distortion rate to avoid failure.
@arsitech-ltd3 жыл бұрын
Dear, Hourglass control based on element formulation and i believe "deformation control" that u r using is Available by solver control.

@arsitech-ltd4 жыл бұрын
Dear, Reduced integration scheme can save computation time.. but you have to make sure they should not be subject to hourglass.. it may possible to reduce/eliminate hourglass by fine mesh and hourglass control mesh.

Visualization - Main Menu - Tools - XY Data - Create - ODB history output - Artificial Strain Energy (ALLAE). Here the ALLAE is artificial energy (Hourglass Energy). You can compare ALLAE with ALLIE (Internal Energy). Always welcome.

Dear, Make sure minimum 3-4 layers of element above the cutting plane. Even more, if you can afford as per ur computational power. If you performing simulation with Lagrangian mesh ** Default Enhanced hourglass control will work most of time.
