Agree 100% number 1, they aren't inclusive to all skin colors so that's an automatic no from me even though they have colors for me, they don't have products for my dark skinned sisters and that's not fair. Number 2, if I'm paying that much for these products, I'd wanna see pigment, I understand it's supposed to be light, but they don't even build up well. I'm spending the money with Mother Pat. Lol

i didn't really understand the ambient lighting palettes until last year when i finally got one, and now i'm a convert for life. not only is the savings handy OBVIOUSLY but i like that the pans are a bit smaller so you have more of a chance to go through them faster. well, good for me who has too much makeup to ever go through.

I feel really bad for all the WOC who are feeling left out due to the blush and bronzers not being inclusive enough. With that being said, I'm actually quite happy I ordered this. I'm such a pale person that bronzer always looks too dark, so a neutral bronzer should do the trick. This is my first and last time getting the Holiday palette, however. I've been told they look the same every year, and the only reason I got the holiday palette was because I needed blush, bronzer, and highlight, so I decided to get all out the way at once. I do want to add that those 3 highlights together are stunning. As always, I love your videos!

I'm not gonna lie that quad is STUNNING. But Hourglass really isn't trying to cater to woc. They even had the guts to name this collection sculpture with their midtoned bronzers?!?! Sculpture equates dimension! Drives me crazy!!! I want to buy their products with confidence! It's just ridiculous to wait for their holiday drop every year only to find something that we will have to "make work". Had the nerve to name it sculpture! Sculpture!? Where?!?!

I think they could extend their blush range to include more vibrant shades for deeper skintones. I found the bronzer in the Ghost face palette to be pretty light & I am definitely in the Fair/Light skintones. I mainly bought Ghost because the blushes weren't too cool, neutral or pale for a change (main reason I never bought HG blushes ) & I was curious about the face powders. I couldn't buy 6 mini HG products for the price of Ghost so I figured I'd pull the trigger. I like the palette but I usually pair it with another face palette for a matte bronzer/contour & more bright highlighter. I ended up buying minis of 2 of the Ambient face powders to use as finishing powders & sometimes as setting powder. I do really like those products as they don't enhance texture & dont contain shimmer. Edit: While I do like the HG Ambient powders I feel like there are other skin finish powders out there now that are very nice too. And considering HG is not seeming to even try to cater to diverse skintones, I don't think I will personally purchase anymore of their products. I would prefer to support more inclusive brands.

I am extremely white, but if a brand doesn't want to make shades inclusive to every shade of skin, I refuse to give them my money. It's not fair. I received 2 hourglass products from boxycharm and I didn't even want them in my collection so I gave them to a friend. It just really upsets me that some brands still have the nerve to do this. I wish everyone would quit purchasing from them until they get with the program, seems like we need to force them to change in order to get them to fix this issue

I have A Light skin, but i al do feel disapointed, because of shades form hourglass. People have Light, medium, darek skin tone and Many undertones, like cool or warm.. And hourglass still make one pallete for everybody. .I feel ashamed

i only got this because i really like mood exposure, so i'm gonna sell my current one and use this palette for when i wanna look ~natural~ with just a whisper of blush. i don't think the bronzer is even gonna do much for me except be a buffing shade, maybe even another finishing powder, but i like the idea of that too. here's hoping next year the actual DEEP deep shades are ready because their formulas are otherwordly!

I just got my hands on the AMBIENT™ LIGHTING EDIT MINI - SCULPTURE UNLOCKED and it is worth EVERY penny. I am on the medium-dark end of the spectrum (think Nars Tahoe/Cadiz), and I've always found a lot of the Hourglass blushes and bronzers to be too light for me. I missed out on the Ghost Unlocked palette a couple of years ago, so I was excited to try this quad since it seemed to be geared toward deeper skin tones. I have no regrets. It is beautiful and shows up on my skin! It's the perfect face palette for travel and at a fair price (I'd much rather pay $60 than $80 bucks) for a luxury product.

I think these palettes are a good introduction to hourglass before getting the full size products... provided you can get one that works for your skin tone that is. I have the ambient lighting palette and mood exposure in the full sizes that I purchased after buying a holiday palette so I don't think I need these but I agree they are better value than the mini's. Terrible reviewer made me snort... you are probably the most comprehensive reviewer I watch and have become a fast favourite 💓💓

We look forward to the new Holiday Releases.... then they repackage something the Die Hards already have. Bummer. On another subject, Charlotte Tilbury is becoming very repetitive as well. All her pallets are starting to look alike. I totally am skipping this year’s big holiday pallet. Her quality is good. Her colors are boring. 😳 That’s my 2 cents. Another great demo Alicia!!! Thank you for the swatches since my order hasn't come in yet and hourglass has given up on swatches it seems. I got the mini edit hoping that instead of soft light they would instead bring back filtered light from the past unlocked palette :( filtered light for me works great under the eyes or for an allover finish if I don't want to use golden bronze light all over the face. Mood flush shows up on my skin tone(510 suede Shiseido) but barely I definitely have to build it up. It would have been absolutely perfect if instead of mood flush they put the newer blush shade in with filtered light and a deeper bronzer. I skipped the larger palette altogether because I thought the new bronzer would be lighter than golden bronze and the blush shades probably wouldn't have worked for me either.

It's a slap in the face that after all this time Hour Glass has refused to make a face palette for medium to dark skin tones. 🙄 It's a little frustrating to watch people say "Oh well" and purchase a 50th palette, while the rest of us sit with bated breath hoping this is the year they make something for the other 2/3 of the skin tone spectrum. You can't boycott a company that doesn't care about you, but you can be an ally to those who are YET AGAIN being left out. Skin tones haven't changed over the years, the same people left out last year and the year before that (and the year before that) are the same ones who have been left out this year. I'm never giving them my money again.

It's exhausting to always have to be the ones to call out companies. I want to celebrate and get excited about holiday launches with my friends. I don't want to try to explain for the 50th year in a row why I'm frustrated so many launches are unappealing because my skintone wasn't included in the conceptualization. The 3 lipstick bundles and holiday ornament face trios and tree-topper highlighters and limited edition palettes and every year they're made for the same narrow group of consumers, and every year we're accused of being overly sensitive. It's gaslighting, and I'm both surprised and heartened by how many people, while not themselves directly affected, are still frustrated on behalf of those of us who were not included in yet another year of launches. I'm so over Hourglass. They continue to move in the wrong direction and they just have no excuse being an American brand. I think it's ok if these shades work for some people; it's completely valid for those people to be excited for this release. But the brand itself needs to wake up. For the only shades that work for anyone in a medium up to tan skin tone to be a limited edition release while their regular lineup still only caters to fair to light is just so wrong. I don't understand why they're continuing to get away with this.

Sorry for ranting! It just annoys me to no end especially when people try to come after Pat McGrath’s line for her price point. Hers is the only luxury brand that caters to everyone mindfully from the beginning, and not as some afterthought.

@@sherimorgan7107 I always find one palette that is "inclusive to everyone" to be somewhat unrealistic, because skin tones are so different. Rather, I would appreciate if the brand could have palettes catering for different skin tones. Like for the holiday season, they can release a limited edition of 3 face palettes for fair, medium and dark skin tones, all under the same colour theme or whatever gimmicky theme they want to use for the collection. If the feedback is positive, they can make this practice permanent. In this case I won't have to waste 1-2 colours in each of their face palettes because the colours are too fair for me.

So informative! I saw these on social media and was wondering if they would be appropriate for deeper skintones. Hourglass needs to step it up and be more inclusive with their holiday releases. Hopefully next year they release multiple palettes in different tones!

I already picked up the big palette and I intent buying the smaller one later,🥰as I don't have the big unlocked one.At first I was scared that it wouldn't show up on my skin as I am an NC42,now I am a bit darker bcs of summer but I was surprised how beautifully it showed on my complexion and was really happy with my result .I would definitely like to see deeper shades from hourglass.Thank you for this video..😍😘

I have my edit palette and I really like it. Yes, the bronzer is not deep but it’s perfect for adding warmth. If you are taker skin toned then totally agree that the shades are a slap in the face and they need to make an edit version for deeper tones

I'm probably going to get these because I have panned like four minis of dim and diffused and three of the quad blushes, plus a single blush. I want these shades and darker shades because on forty-something DRY skin, these are magic for me personally and I use them every day. And often with eye shadow as a blend shade. I dislike face palettes, but I am sometimes willing to make an exception for HG, because it saves space and maybe saves money (if I use all the shades). I bought the blush palette last year, and I was hoping the release of the At Night collection meant that they would have a stronger color story in 2020. I appreciate the ambient powders because I use them a lot. I appreciate the highlighters because I don't like a lot of powder highlights and HG is my favorite straight powder (but that gold Chantecaille highlight from the manta ray duo I'll wear nonstop and I wear a lot of cream and liquid highlight). I I appreciate the subtlety and glow of the blushes and bronzers and I like layering them, but using so many Suqqu blushes this year (my apricot blush is lighter than the peach blush from 2019 in the pan, but much more pigmented on my skin) has made me aware of how often these shades are too light (or too muted or TOO PINK) on me. I'm a Dior 1.5N/2.0N and I can use dim light as a bronzer over a cream bronzer and it shows up. I like a strong blush look with a gradiant. Why they work for me is that I use them to set and finish my strong color cream bronzers. Or I use their darker shades and build (z-8 for life). I'm still trying to figure out how to wear the pink blush in the 2019 palette. It's like the color I look when I do too much intense cardio and might be about to have a stroke. So I'm saying, if I, as an extremely pale person, have to layer and build most of these up, something is wrong hourglass. If they would release blushes/bronzers/powders for darker skin tones: (a)It was time ages ago, yall, catch up and (b) I would buy them because they give an effect I like and I won't always have to rely on a cream blush for a gradient. Or I can wear an intense bronzer as a blush. But as a person who actually uses up their ambient powders and highlighters (and blushes), this makes sense for me and the quad is bang on for travel. I'm a very loyal HG customer, they've been one of my favorite all around brands for a few (not shadow obvs) and I just want them to do better. But, both are products that if I buy now, I will mostly use up by release next year, so it makes sense.

I have to thank the YT algorithm gnomes for sending me your way. Sometimes those little suckers get things so, so right, because though my foundation shade is best described as “bleached sea salt” and my wife refuses to engage me on any further cosmetics purchases because apparently we need to pay silly things like the mortgage and power bill, I absolutely loved every second of watching you do what you clearly do so well. Yep... I will just keep using my original unlocked palette and leave this behind. The one thing I would love hourglass to do is just release a light to medium version and a medium to deep version of these holiday palettes. Also they need to consider maybe not continuing to put old shades in these as most people already have those shades by now. If I didn’t have the original unlocked, the only thing worth grabbing would be the Quad which is the best of the Unlocked shades.

The quad caught my eye and you've sold me on it. Ive had their mini trio which has lasted forever and I also have the Mini Luminous bronze light, beautiful natural bronzer. I've never bought their blushes because as a blush fiend, I live a strong pigmented blush like Tarte, Becca, Coverfx, Jouer. The Hourglass blushes just look sooo light and though it's good for a natural look, I use cream blush when I want that barely there flush. That being said the mood flush look like something I could build up so we'll see.
