I’ve been boycotting Hourglass and not buying any of their products for the past year and a half, but I decided to finally end my boycott and pick up these two new palettes to see if Hourglass has turned over a new leaf in terms of beauty inclusivity. What do you think about this release? Will you be picking up any of the palettes? EDIT: I think I switched the swatches of Goa and the Tiger finishing powder. The Tiger one is cooler. Wear Test Update: the powders all wore beautifully - no fading over the course of the day. The concealer was very drying, so even the side without setting powder did not get oily over the course of the day. Overall I’m really not a fan of the concealer on my dry skin though - especially with setting powder, it was very drying and aging.

As a woman of colour, I can usually tell if a face palette is made for someone of my skin tone from the bronzer shade and unfortunately none of those bronzer shades would even show up on my skin. The packaging is very cute though, I imagine that's the main reason why people are buying these palettes. But thank you for boycotting hourglass because they are not inclusive lol

I hope they come out with deeper shades in the future! The darkest shade in the Tiger palette is meant to be a finishing powder instead of a bronzer, so hopefully it works well on deeper skin tones for that purpose. I’m hoping more reviews will come out testing it as a finishing powder

Thanks for such an amazing and thorough review! I think I've watched almost every video on the review of these palettes and you're the ONLY one that mentioned the scratches on the actual palette. I just received mine today and that was the first thing I noticed. Thanks for addressing that so I know I'm not the only one disappointed in that😊

Great review! I haven’t bought from hourglass in a while but I may do it this year. I would have loved to see more of a difference in the blushes from the elephant palette since it fits my skin tone more. But seeing you’re review of the Tiger makes me think it’ll work for me. Hi this is such a great and informative video! I was wondering what your advice would be to someone buying an hourglass pallette for the first time, would you recommend picking up elephant or the older sculpture 6 pallette (both available on the website)? I’m NC20 so maybe similar colouring to you? Thank you!

Personally I use the Sculpture 6 palette the most - it’s one of my most used makeup products! I recommend it for a relatively natural look. The shades are a bit lighter and more muted than the Elephant palette. A lot of folks really love the Sculpture 4 palette though - if you like a warmer/slightly shimmery bronzer, more pigmented blush, and brighter highlighter, that one might be better. Elephant’s good if you want a brighter pink pink blush and more bronzy highlight and bronzer.

Their Vanish foundation is the same…extremely full coverage. Really hard to use. Theoretically I am tempted by the Tiger palette but in practice I gave all these shades in great formulas already. Suqqu had a melting powder blush in this exact same orange tone for summer 2022. I am not sure whether that’s still around but if so, fabulous formula and color.

Thanks for the heads up! Given how natural their powders look on the skin, I wonder why they make such thick, cakey base products?! Ooo, good to know - I just tried their melting blush formula for the first time and love it!

my first thought was "I want the elephant package with the tiger shades... but then I remembered that I dont really like palettes (besides eyeshadows)... all the palettes I own, maybe two or three get used. I hope they release that orang-y blush as single, then I will pick it up
