I wonder if there was transfer because you used about 10x the amount you were supposed to?

Or because, as she admitted, used NO primer???
@jude-a-licious83138 жыл бұрын
I have see.n another YT and she does it as they recommend initially and it just doesn't cover even just basic redness around her nose. So she ends up going in with as much as Steph in the end. Soooo might just be the formulation ????
@AlizMari238 жыл бұрын
+Livia Fascia with oily skin, you have to be very careful with primers, because most of them are silicone-based which can suffocate the skin and cause an over-production of oil. I have excessively oily skin and primers just make my foundation look worse after a few hours, so I always go without it. The best primer I've tried was the Becca Poreless Matte Primer, and even that one (though it kept my foundation very matte) made it so I could still feel the oil come through, and there was still an equal amount of transfer as with any other primer. I've had more luck with setting sprays than I've had with primers.
@AlizMari238 жыл бұрын
+Livia Fascia I've also found that using a silica powder, like the one from NYX, before foundation holds onto it better than a primer (I learned that from Wayne Goss).

@suzymanville2328 жыл бұрын
Maybe try using about 1/2 as much? I barely use any, still get great coverage, and wayyyyyy less transfer (but still a little). I LOVE this foundation, but I am very dry, so its perfect!
@tini967 жыл бұрын
is this foundation good for oily skin? I normally have combination skin but now in these summer months, I get sweaty and my face looks oily. How does it look on oily/sweaty skin?
@suzymanville2327 жыл бұрын
The Anastasia stick foundation is actually better on oily skin, and it's less expensive. The Hourglass, like the Makeup Forever stick, is nice on normal and dry skin. I am looking forward to trying the new stick foundation by Tarte, but I've heard it's also better for oily skin. .
@tini967 жыл бұрын
but the hourglass stick is full coverage. Are the other ones full coverage? What are full coverage foundations for oily skin? Maybe i need face sweat control, not oil control. Any ideas?
@mayagonzales17027 жыл бұрын
Hey R Ree, I have dry combination skin and have found that as far as stick foundations go, Hourglass is really good and holds up pretty well with my oily t-zone. I just recently started using tart foundation and as far as coverage goes, it's a bit more full coverage than hourglass (for my own skin). It holds up pretty well with oils as well. A little tip though for oily skin that I have found useful in my own routine is to spray setting spray on after I prime my skin, then once the spray is dry, pat on setting powder into the skin and brush off any excess powder. Once that's done then put on the foundation and set all of your makeup with setting spray. It sounds weird but it's been working for me since I found out about this tip.

The reason it "feels heavy" and "transfers" is because you put on 10x the amount you're supposed to and set it heavily with a powder. What annoys me a bit is you made no attempt to apply it in small amounts at first, then build up. Strange way of reviewing a product. X

@tabathiagaskin79928 жыл бұрын
Lol. You're right. She put too much on. She goes in like I do with foundation. I put way too much on. Hopefully the next time she applies it, she'll use less. She caught herself after she did the second half of her face. I think you're only supposed to dab it on on 4 sections of your face and you're supposed to do it 1 section at a time so it isn't hard to blend. I could be wrong but I'm pretty sure that's how you apply it.

I would request more reviews! You are great at them, I like how you show how it held up through the day! Also I second the one commenter if you could maybe do an "after" and show if a particular product irritated your skin. I wouldn't expect you to show it, I would understand if that would be too intimidating or too much invasion into your life, but just a quick "when I took this off, the next day I notice my skin was irritated/broken out/etc" I understand everyone's skin is different but it would be cool to hear your experience since you are trying to use cruelty free products and have rosacea. Thanks for these videos!

Hi, Stephanie. Thank you for the video--you are my favorite makeup tutorial guru. I have a question--can you do a "makeup 101" video? I've looked through and saw some great "dos and don'ts" but I get confused with different applications. Example, what's the difference between finishing powder and setting powder? Bronzers vs contouring powders? Liquid liners vs. pencil, and powders vs gels for eyebrows. These types of things. I think it'd be an interesting video--some of this information is mixed into other vids but not all together as their own tutorial (unless I missed it through the searches).
@user-rf9he1cg9c8 жыл бұрын
Yep, the reason I don't use cream foundations is because you have to rub. As soon as I rub any type of makeup into my skin, all the dry flakes show up and it goes flaky as hell!!! I always used to rub foundation in with my fingers really roughly, as soon as I watched your videos saying to dab, my foundation has looked so much better!!! so thanks for that :)
@Doktor03158 жыл бұрын
Yes, please do more reviews! I know you never use primers, but I suggest you branch out a bit and use a few different primers, if only to give your impressions on them for a review. I have super oily skin and primers/setting sprays work wonders for me--I couldn't live without them! My favorite primers are the Becca Ever-Matte primer and the Skindinavia oil control primer spray. Those two together make an awesome combination. Otherwise, foundation reviews would be awesome. :)
