I love when natural brunettes with blue eyes go dark or even black - very complimentary :) sometimes going darker can age certain people but in Tati's case I think she looks younger with the new darker hair 😀

my experience was different - Hourglass didn't cover w/their 2x pigment claim, didn't cover my dark spots after 3x I was done. ABH covered my sun spot/marks with a detail brush. ABH color match is slightly off for me but I can make it work and Hourglass shade was my exact skin tone. I agree that ABH is harder to blend than Hourglass. I love stick foundations esp when I rush to class dab dab blend, out the door!
@corackadile8 жыл бұрын
Did you try to color correct before hand :) I know you were testing the coverage on its own. But I'm just curious if you were able to cover it after using a color corrector.

Cora Musgrave Yes with a corrector and without, but to test its more than liquid foundation pigment claim it needs to be tested by itself with no corrector.

I haven't tried the Hourglass one but have the Anastasia one in the shade Natural. I can't compare how easily one blended to the other obviously but I have no issues blending the ABH foundation stick. I like it! I'd love to try the Hourglass one. Maybe I will when this runs out.

Kylee Werner I love make up forever as well and I tired both and loveeeee the hour glass.. it makes your face look flawless!
@dananezat8 жыл бұрын
Monica V agreed. the hourglass is my go to for full face all nighter look. i still enjoy the MUFE but the hourglass matches me so much better. Hourglass has much better shade selection for fair to light and cool undertones.
@kyleers8 жыл бұрын
I went ahead and bought the hourglass one shortly after this. I was almost out of my make up forever stick so I thought why not? I like it the same if not maybe a little more. They are very similar! And the make up forever was my holy grail foundation. But with the makeup forever you only get 0.25 Oz for $46 as opposed to the 0.44 Oz you get with makeup forever for $43. I'll probably stick with makeup forever from now on...

Return it? In The Netherlands you can't return make-up when you used it!!! Test it in a store....and when you're thinking it's what you want....but after a few days it's still not performing? You can give it to someone who does like it! Your daughter, daughter in law or girlfriend! You don't even ask them to buy it....you just give it away!!!
@Hollister748 жыл бұрын
Here in the U.S. at stores like Sephoria we can return anything for any reason. It is part of the service we pay a little more for shopping for products at stores like that. When we are talking about high end products it is definitely nice to have a garentee we will be happy with them. I recently tried the MILK mascara tined color that made my eyes swell up everytime I used it, it was $27 so I returned it and bought something else I belive it was the Born This Way Foundation. So returning products here is not out of the range of normal activity.

Everyone is saying the smaller amount of product with these is a con but is it really that much less than a liquid? These are measured by weight instead of volume like a liquid. A liquid foundation probably doesn't weigh one ounce, it fills up two tablespoons (1 fluid ounce). If these were melted down to a liquid it would probably be just as much product as a liquid if not more. Hopefully that made sense. I know a lot of people are confused by the different measurements.

TATI! I was waiting for this video since i've seen the preview on Snapchat! I'm shade Warm Natural in ABH foundation stick and I wanted to hear Your thoughts on ABH stick foundation since I got mine. However, I was surprised to hear that You were disappointed with ABH. I don't have any trouble in blending it, it's so easy to use on the go to get a nice coverage and skin, looking like a skin, but better. So i'd say maybe it's better for oily skin only, as Norvina mentioned it was created for oily skin. The Hourglass is way too expensive for such a small amount

i add 1 drop of oil to my moisturizer, only 1 drop and let that sink in for 5 minutes, then go in with any hydrating primer. my favorite is the beck backlight priming filter. and i set it very lightly with a translucent powder. and you can always add a hydrating spray after your makeup if you think you look too matte. i got a good 10 hours of wear from this foundation in 100 degree heat!

@JennV-B8 жыл бұрын
D - it's hard to find a foundation that doesn't accentuate scabs but I have a couple. Lancôme's Teint Miracle doesn't and although this isn't technically a foundation (although it has the coverage of one) my IT Cosmetics CC cream doesn't either. I think I'm forgetting a couple but I'd have to look at my collection... To add to that MUFE full Cover concealer and Giorgio Armani's Luminous Silk pressed powder foundation do not show dry patches at all.
@dananezat8 жыл бұрын
MokaTutu I love lancome tient idole foundation (different from what you mentioned but just saying), It cosmetics CC cream although I have to mix shades, and Armani Luminous Silk.... you won't know if the hourglass sticks to scabs i guess until you try it...i have dry patches and dry skin (no acne or scabs though) and can tell you it does not stick to the patches. honestly, i am very picky about foundations but this is my favorite i have tried in a LONG time. for dry skin, i definitely thing it is worth a try.

Tati, what is the best foundation for DRY skin? my skin is dryer than the Sahara, and I apply a moisturizer at night, and more before my foundation, and i even mix some into my foundation as I'm putting it on and my skill STILL looks flaky at the end of the day. HELP!!!

I have dry skin as well, and have found that any of the Bobby Brown foundations work great. VERY moisturizing. Make sure you're exfoliating at least twice a week. That gets our flakes off! Perhaps your moisturizer isn't heavy enough?

Try layering moisturizers, not a heavy moisturizer. That works better for me at least. Starting with damp skin, layer a serum weight moisturizer then another light moisturizer then a refining moisturizer that will work as a primer. If it's really dry (winter time) I usually add a couple drops of oil to top it all off. Let that sink in while you do your eyes then add foundation when you've finished them.

Have you tried her tip about adding a drop of oil to the foundation before applying? I do that with my Maybelline fit me dewy finish and it looks really good imo without making my skin drier. Also, have you considered keeping a moisturising spray on you for touch ups? A spritz of anything glycerine based mid day always fixes my face when its looking flakey,

I have extremely dry skin, my Clinique moisturiser really helped but i swear by two drugstore foundations from Bourjois! The Healthy mix serum is AMAZING for dry skin and it is a light coverage (I am on my third bottle) and then the normal healthy mix foundation is so good and that just had slightly more coverage xx

We don't have Bourjois in America :(

I've seen quite a few of your videos, and I really like the fact that even though you clearly have a very high price budget for makeup, your knowledge and relatable-ness makes you so enjoyable to watch, you're really great at connecting with your audience! Subscribed. :)

I feel like she should have tested the same shade or a similar one on the blotchy back of her hand test. Because though I believe that Hourglass blends better, I really could not see that at all because she used a tone much more similar to her skin than the Anastasia one. Just my opinion, not a huge deal.

I've been watching your reviews the past few months. I like how straightforward you are. I went to Sephora last night. Got myself Color ID matched. Bought the Hourglass Vanish Stick in Vanilla & Too Faced Chocolate Bar. Only thing I didn't like about Sephora is the samples are for only online purchases. At least my beauty points were applied. Your previous video on Hourglass helped me in my decision. I applied it this morning after cleansing, moisturizing & priming. I waited about 15 mins for my moisturizer to absorb before applying primer. The foundation applies with the barest touch & blends very well. I like that you can gradually increase how much coverage you need. I did apply blush & a sheer setting powder. I've had it on about 10 hours & it still looks good. I've always spent around $10 for a foundation & I usually regret the purchase. I've purchased 2 drugstore foundations in the last month. One was Covergirl. It stunk. Smelled like the skin cleanser Noxzema. The color matched me closely. The smell was too much. The other was Rimmel. The color was close. The foundation oxidized within 2 hours. This is my first high end purchase. I have no regrets. Loving the Chocolate Bar as well.

thank you Tati for being so honest about all the products that you buy. Personally, I just recently purchased the hourglass and I am in love.. Definitely will try it for contour and highlighting! Thanks again for the tip.

I was waiting for someone to do this! I think I'd do better with hourglass due to dry skin, and the fact that Blanc looks fair enough for me with cool, instead of neutral, undertones, but I've been using the Bobbi Brown stick for years and love it! I think it's extremely underrated here on youtube.
