Great explanation. It can be good to vary the kick velocity for house. House has kicks that often go Hard > Weak > Medium > Weak.

Well, LNA *is* really good at what she does, but that’s not the whole story; Ableton (and other modern DAWs) are really fast to work with once you know them well. But yeah, she’s great. :-)

You can compare verses to stanzas in poems. Musically, they are repetitive but each verse has different lyrics that move the story along. Often the lyrics rhyme in a AABB (first and second lines rhyme with each other, as do the third and fourth lines) or ABAB (first and third lines rhyme with each other as do the second and fourth lines) rhyme schemes. The verses reveal the story, create interest with sensory details, and convey emotion. The verses are there to support the chorus. When you write a second verse, you’ll answer the question: “what else happened?” Or, “then what?”

This is where we get down to business and find out what the story is about. It’s the “Once upon a time …” section. Generally, there are multiple verses in a song, and they usually have different lyrics even though the melody will likely be the same. We get more information about the story with each additional verse. Considering that most commercial songs are between 3 and 4 minutes long, many people ask how many lines should be in the verse of the song. A good rule of thumb is to keep the song verses under 1 minute, or just a few lines.

My mom Suzanne said every song tells a story but not every studio album tells a big story what is intention and also sequencing too in your honest opinion too?
@Songwritersbehindthecurtain
@Songwritersbehindthecurtain 2 жыл бұрын
The verse is what establishes the theme of the song, or tells the story. A song usually has at least two verses; the verses can have the same melody, but different lyrics. However, if you want some variation, you can also change the melody up a bit for the verses. Example: The first verse of Bob Dylan’s “Blowin’ In the Wind” starts with the line, “How many roads must a man walk down before you can call him a man?”

Why every song tells a story and also in your honest opinion why album 💿 viewed as one ☝ big story and also why is verse is where the story is being detailed hopefully 🙏 you and your family are having a blessed 🥹 😇 🥲 Tuesday and May god blessed 🥹 🥲 😇 to both to you and your family too? And also do you agree with LNA Does Audio Stuff and Nathan Eswine and also Jonathan Byrd all about song structure? When are you gonna put my question in a KZbin video.LNA?
@Songwritersbehindthecurtain
@Songwritersbehindthecurtain 2 жыл бұрын
What sky jordxn said about song structure was that you basically wanna progress through the song 🎵 so your first verse should tell one part of the story while the second verse of the story then the second verse should progress it. Aka continue the story but what sky jordxn said he would definitely agree with you about is every song tells a story but he would add on what you said for song structure was that, push the song forward push the story which is exactly true.
