The farm house is really taking shape. The metal roofing was an awesome score, even with a 3 hour drive. Looks amazing, local metal roofing company sells a new roofing that looks like your old metal. It’s ridiculously expensive.

I just love an old world feel and I can’t stand anything faux. New fake rusty metal is outrageous, Corten included. We’ve gotta live in one of the only countries that takes something new and makes it look old just to charge 5x more than the real thing lol. Gotta be the real deal for me👍 Thanks Goatstead

Thanks! Yes we mill our own lumber here and we come from a family of carpenters. We just like to build stuff 👍

Do you think it is possible to put some kind of homemade rust inhibitor to a sheeting roof ... I have the same kind of roof. A video about it dosent exist.... best regards, Mike.

Boiled linseed oil will slow the rust by encapsulating it. It’s a great way to protect steel. Btw It will darken the rust to an almost chocolate color. It will need to be resprayed or rolled every handful of years. Dilute BLO with mineral spirits about 1 to 1 otherwise it dries too slow and stays tacky for days or weeks
