Have you considered tiling the bar top outside? It would be very durable and you could pick a cute pattern. I am amazed at the vision you had for this house. It is absolutely stunning!!!

instead of tiling you should think about using epoxy you can put bottle caps, postcards, coasters, any small momentum captured in the epoxy.

Wow! The back porch is so amazing! Instead of sanding down the post you could buy 1x6’s and wrap the existing post and then stain them. A wood ceiling would be beautiful. Love how everything is turning out♥️

The prep work is harder than the work work. lol. So great you got some help from your parents and got to spend time with them. Looks like your oldest son had a growth spurt just before they arrived! He has a few extra inches over his younger brother now! What teamwork they showed. Both of them unloading that truck of wood was so special!!! Those branches were the perfect size for them to be able to help! The pup was so adorable shadow boxing the twigs and having a taste here and there. You and Jalen are really impressive in the work department. Love how the flowers around the tree came out. Love all the clearing that took place. Hope you anchor that soil down with something! The work on the bar looks great! Wonder if that wall was there because of the direction the wind usually blows, because it sure makes sense to have the good sight lines and get rid of it. The roof will look good either way. If it is too expensive or too much added work, it can be a project for next summer or some time when you haven't been going all out for months. The way your boys catch on, I wouldn't be afraid to get a couple more aprons and paint brushes when it comes time to paint( and a rain coat for the curious little pup! lol) - at least for the first coat! Great work. So happy for you all.

A quick tip for your beautiful flower bed: mulch the bed generously with wood chips or something like that. It helps to keep the moisture in the soil and prevents it from heating up too much.

Hi. It might be easier to lay some new wood on top of that bar on your back patio. Looks like you have a lip on there. Making it flush with the new wood on top would make it easier to clean etc.. Love all your hard work.
