Stop putting these people lives in jeopardy. They did their time. What they did was wrong however, you Lawmakers are signaling out one crime from another. All crimes are crimes. You do this for one then you do it for all crimes 💯

What about equal protection under the law? Laws have to be equal and equally applied. People are being punished after they have already paid for their crime. These provisions aren’t being applied because people are currently breaking the law, but that’s they “might” break the law. Stop the persecution of people!

Prime example why not to move or live in Florida. I suggest all SO find a way to move out of that state. Obviously constitutional rights don’t matter there. I pray for all those who may be affected by this bill.. and know that God is behind you all. God bless you all and keep your head up. God loves you all no matter what your past is. The community may not be forgiving or merciful but Our Lord is, let God deal with those who judge and persecute you. They will have to answer to God alone.

@@popeyevalls These laws do no good for anyone, it only furthers to outcast these individuals. It seems like these politicians love to create these laws so they look good to the voters. People are so brainwashed by these people who create these laws. They serve no purpose whatsoever. Our justice system is a total waste and a huge failure. These laws are so unconstitutional, and just imagine if they are willing to violate these individuals constitutional rights just think of what they would be willing to do to the rest of society. If they are willing to trample on constitutional rights it’s only a matter of time till they trample on all the rights of the constitution. This scarlet letter is similar to what Hilter did, marked the people’s skin. Only difference is they are putting the mark on their ID. Lord sees what’s going on. Lord help these individuals, protect them from this injustice. And Lord please forgive these lawmakers for they don’t know what they do or they do and don’t care anyway. Lord you are merciful, please let your spirit spread your love and mercy to all who wish to cause harm to this world. In Jesus most precious name I pray. Amen!

"Any law repugnant to the Constitution is null and void." Justice Marshall, Marbury vs. Madison 1803, 5US (Cranch) 137, 161, 167. This does not leave room for judges to declare unconstitutional law to not be punishment. It does not give voice to law enacted by emotional frenzy. If a law is repugnant, it is incompatible. This registry is incimpatible-repugnant to the Constitution. It should not be debsted. It should be thrown out like garbage. Justice Marshall gave us the groundwork for application of law. This registry is not law. It is an abomination.

Thank you for sharing these. I couldn't watch the whole thing. It really makes no damn sense that they'll pass this even after all the questions. No reason ever can they convince me this is to help law enforcement. The police are supposed to look for risks on the foot when approaching a person or vehicle. If they can't see numbers on the license that id a person as such, they shouldn't be officers.

The guy lobbying for this change on the drivers license seems to have nothing better to do than to sit around and come up with all kinds of straw men arguments for making the change. The scenarios he uses to leverage his position are so weak. I'm happy that at least SOME of the members of the chamber are questioning the need for it.

I think he's only there because the bagels and coffee are free in the lounge. This guy certainly missed a lot of vital information to back up his arguments but he sure didn't miss a free continental breakfast.

Answering the question yes Romio and Juliet does apply. If the individual meets the criteria according to Florida statutes. The law does distinguish a felony was committed.

The guy presenting the bill said the red lettering would be least restrictive. If it's already least restrictive by law, making it more restrictive cannot be argued as least restrictive. More political double speak.

See the Romeo and Juliet offenders are not people who hurt kids! But they and their families are drugged in the ground like they are! Why don’t we have a tier system like most states????
