Restorative Justice is about harming the person who caused the crime through emotional, spiritual, economic and personal means. This program caused Darrell Brooks in Waukesha WI to drive through a crowd of people at a Christmas Parade. This group is delusional in their pursuit of easy money. No thanks

In NM offenders convicts of only possessing Internet child pornography, but never harming a minor in any way, by law don’t have to register. But the atty gen calls that a violent. Crime and requires registration. FBI statistics show that only 3% of these offenders reoffend. His requirement violates a US Supreme Court decision that says all laws must be construed strictly or the average person wouldn’t know of they were offending or not.

David- I’m late seeing this...always late...I very much agree with you For a number of reasons. Today the number one reason I have is a young man I know and once again saying jail, awaiting transport to prison for failure to register. Chris’s original offense was when he was 24 and his girlfriend was 17, almost 18. The parents of the young lady fully supported this union, and everyone was excited about their expected baby. The couple had a couple disagreements, not physical, and her parents decided he was going to obey their orders or else. He left there. They had him arrested For solicitation of a minor. He wrote to the court, his girlfriend wrote in support of him, and it did not matter. Now he’s doing life in installments. I don’t know, but the gal is white and he happens to be black, in Jamestown North Dakota, maybe could be a factor. This young mans life has. Been hell the past ten years. I think he’s kind of just given up. I haven’t yet though. It’s min 15 yrs in Nd to register. So wrong. It’s not like he was 24 and she 7. Not sure what to do but I need to try something.

The recidivism rate of a sex offender is 5% This means 95% of the convicted sex offenders do not re-offend. The registry does NOTHING to prevent re-occurrence. The registry is 100% a violation of the constitution on MEANY amendments.

Let me tell you as someone thats on the registry. Its legal double jeopardy. Its their way of sentencing you again for your crime.I completed my probation and was sent to prison for failure to register.I just got out of prison.Ten years afteer i completed my probation. I wasnt even guilty is what makes it so bad. I only plead no contest because they told me.I wouldn't have to register then. When I went to see my probation officer, she bade me register and here.I am 10 years later after I completed my probation.Just get not a prison 2 years for failure to register. They know what they're doing. That's why they designed it that way.Exactly what they're doing

They create high paying jobs for people who work in the industry, Registry people, treatment facilities, Dr's, social workers. The facility I work at pays the 3 social workers in charge 540,000 Dolors a year. They lie on reports and abuse their authority to keep people incarcerated but no one cares because they are sex offenders.

Of course they are punishment. These laws oppressively affect more than the s.o. they also oppressively affect the families of the So. These laws are punishment beyond the sentences given. Kentucky Supreme Court said the registry is tantamount to banishment.

There are many who need to stay on it. But some are on it for very petty crap. My former coworker's brother was put on it here in PA for peeing inside some bushes on the freeway when absolutely nobody was around. But somehow a trooper popped up and got him. When he went to court he had to register but fought it and got off 3 months later. Seriously, you know how common it is for us, especially men to do what he did. A majority of the male population on Earth would be registered. You have to go, you go. Just make sure nobody is around or have a spotter.

all sex offender laws are something for the government to hide behind because they cant think of any better way of protecting the people of the country against sex various types of crimes. so they just hide the offenders away, and the best way to hide people away is to shame them for as long as possible, rather than just hiding offenders away, shouldnt our government be making laws that protect us?

Completely unconstitutional and ignorant!! There are so many actions that can land you on the SO registry that have nothing to do with sex! Taking a piss outside can land you on the registry for life and by what I've researched for florida, labeled as a sexual predator, is that ok? Hell no! This crap needs to stop! Florida is the worst state for stomping on peoples constitutional rights and human rights!! All of this BS is all about the money. Just so everyone knows this, Florida receives funding from the government for each so called offender on that list, hence why there is still people on there that are deceased! And to top that off, they tell the government it cost around $200k per offender, per year! Now there is 33,000 offenders on Florida's registry, do that math! 33,000 offenders at $200k per offender, that's $6.6 billion dollars and where does all that money go? And you can probably add more to that from all the tax payers paying in their taxes!

In shadows cast by a past misdeed, A label, stark, where hope recedes, Humanity stripped, respect laid bare, Once vibrant dreams now tread with care. The world, a stage where silence reigns, A name that echoes with whispered pains, No longer seen as a man of worth, Just a shadow of shame, devoid of mirth. Yet from the ashes of despair and strife, A love emerged, a radiant light, Her gentle strength, my heart embraced, In her eyes, I found my place. Together we forged a bond so true, Her laughter, the balm, my spirit renewed, In the warmth of her hand, I reclaimed my grace, Restoring the honor, restoring my face. No longer a ghost of what I’d been, In her love, I found the strength within, With each shared smile, each tender trace, I wear my pride like a sacred lace. In her culture, the honor of face holds sway, A tapestry rich, where traditions stay, Through her eyes, I’m more than a name, With her, I rise, and I shed the shame. So here I stand, with a heart reborn, A man of dignity, no longer forlorn, From the depths of darkness, to a radiant space, I’ve reclaimed my spirit, my Chinese face.

I have personal experience with this. Also w domestic abuse. And it’s amazing how little police and prosecutors care about domestic violence but how quick they are to give someone the title Sexual offender. With the statistics on domestic violence maybe they need to switch and let people know where these guys live.

In Utah, an FBI source (not informant) providing information was convicted of sexual exploitation of a minor because the prosecutor told the jury the defendant’s defense was valid, he did not violate the law, but there was some innuendo he could make that the defendant could have committed a crime, so he was prosecuting him as if he’d committed a crime. The man spent 15 years in Utah prison.

New Mexico’s atty. gen. Has decided that persons who by NM law do not have to register must register because he claims no contact, nonviolent crimes like viewing online pornography are violent crimes.

In Utah, a 14 yo boy and his 13 yo girl friend were. Both charged with sexual exploitation of a minor because the prosecutor said “We have to protect our children even if it’s from themselves”. In another case a Utah prosecutor told a jury a defendant’s defense was valid,he did not violate the law, but there was some innuendo he could make that the man could have committed a crime, so he was prosecuting him as if he’d committed a crime. The man spent 15 years in prison.

All offenders are treated as if they’re the worst. FBI statistics show that older offenders who were convicted of only looking at online child pornography, but have never harmed a child, have just a 3% recidivism rate. Yet it’s nearly impossible to rent an apartment or home or find a job.
