I agree! I always felt for sadhana (tabus character) because she gets married, then there’s an engagement in the home next day. Then another engagement during her honeymoon. She literally had to have a baby before she can get any attention as a daughter in law 😅 and the misogyny in this movie is another level!! The mom wants to divide everything between her sons, doesn’t even remember her daughter who is the entire reason of the division. They literally have a dialogue about doctors becoming housewives. 🥴

I think pop cultures like films has a role to play in the society. People just don't watch it but idealize it. How women were portrayed as housewives only cooking for men, sacrificing for husband's and brothers and all such stereotypes. Only the men going out, taking degrees, handling business. It influences people in a wrong way and portrays women submissive in the patriarchal world. Even the famous DDLJ is such a movie where eve teasing generalized. How ladki ko chedna was a normal thing in movies. Good that the world is changing, audience is smart and rational. The film industry is changing and a lot has to change. Even the advertisements need to change, like a male scientist explaining the power of a washing powder to a group of women. We need gender neutral world, for a better world. You are doing a great job.

I totally agree. Every daily soap does the same. Even If a girl is very much educated her entire life will be after a man who does not respect her, in-laws who do not accept her and toxic family. These serials potray self loving women as villain and women who constantly weep and delivers long "sanskaari" lecture, is never happy, and takes all responsibility of unhappiness in her family as the idol bahu ( here I am writing bahu and not a woman or a person or a girl because according to these serials, the only aim of a girl after her birth should be to become a bahu of a famous khaandan). I always get angry seeing the people finding mistakes and logic in bollywood movies.. if they are smart enough to find out the mistakes, logic, etc then why don't they make a movie by their own? I know there are many scenes in this movie that are illogical but some of the mistakes such as 'pooja iss awaaz mein ki jaa rahi hai' were not the mistakes at all. It has become a trend to praise the Hollywood movies even though some of them are just...🤮 and to hate bollywood movies. The best thing about many 90's movies is these can be watched with whole family but talking about Hollywood movies, they can't be because there are always kissing scenes in every Hollywood movie. OMG I totally agree with everyone that this movie was sooo horrible!!! The movie portrayed absurd concepts such as family unity, true friendship, love, respect, kindness, understanding, compromise, sacrifice, and forgiveness! I mean they had the damn audacity to show that people sometimes get selfish and make mistakes, then actually feel bad and try to rectify themselves!!! I mean like really, WTH?!?!?! Oh and the nerve of them to show humble men and women with some humility and modesty?!?!?! I mean the women were fully dressed?! How can they show something like this?! And nowhere was there any hot and steamy scenes to where one can watch and get off to, or beat their meat! This movie didn't even try to make it somewhat awkward to watch with family!!! That's so backward!!! And the poor women were forced against their will to labor in the kitchen all day, and nourish the family!!! This movie completely lacked a sense of respect for the new and modern, educated, "civilized" and extremely progresive generation of men and women of today!!!
