I don't think Daemon is much afraid of Rhaenyra's dragon (Syrax) not while his own dragon is there anyways... As you can see in that wide shot and from what we saw in episode 1, Caraxes (his dragon) is faaaaarrr bigger than hers, twice the size of her dragon; and perhaps more importantly, far more aggressive and ready for fights... Rhaenyra's dragon, while still having the aggression of a dragon, a wild and powerful animal, is still quite calm, docile and inexperienced since she has been used only for joy rides... Daemon stepped down because he likes her, he loves his family, his intentions have never been to hurt his family or kill them or usurp the throne... The whole point of his actions was to seek the attention of the king, he didn't get it but he got the next best thing, Rhaenyra's; and their interaction is quite important to clear the air in regards to where they stand towards each other, they are not enemies and they still like each other, and that can shape a lot of things in the future

*Are* *The* *Targs* *Really* *The* *Villains?* You ever seen those *Zack* *Morris* *Is* *Trash* videos? Or how Daniel LaRusso was the real villain in The Karate Kid years before *Cobra* *Kai* ever came out? Maybe we are seeing the Targs as the protagonists because we see it from their perspective as it's a show mainly about them? It's similar to how *Maleficent* (2014) and *Cruella* (2021) turned previous antagonists into protagonists. Cobra Kai gave us Johnny Lawrence's perspective for the first time and we all ended up loving the guy being so un-pc and stuck in the 1980s. I'm starting to question all parties involved here. Maybe we all end up hating everyone except the Valeryons? And House Valeryon was the one we criticized because the actors are Black. I look at Lord Corlys looking like he's related to King Ezekiel in The Walking Dead. *Book* *Spoilers* *Coming* *Up* Daemon pulls off a King Herod 🍷🧀. He didn't commit it but ordered it like Tywin ordered for the Red Wedding to happen with Walder Frey. Rhaenyra becomes terrible at the end. Yet, at this moment, Daemon and Rhaenyra are by far the most popular characters after only two episodes. This might change as time goes on. With Daemon, I expect him to do some awful things. He's grey. So once he does it, maybe my feelings won't really change? He is the Rogue Prince after all. It's like Anakin slaughtering Jedi kids before he became Vader but I still love Vader no matter what. But Rhaenyra? She's perceived as early Daenerys. But as we saw Dany come unhinged in the later years, some went against her. I see Rhaenyra following the same path. I think the one character that will eventually be liked more as the series goes on is Alicent. Olivia Cooke has this face of sadness while still looking like a sweet woman like Rose Byrne does. I believe Alicent really does love Viserys. Alicent has potential as a top 5 favorite even if she becomes bitter rivals to Rhaenyra. She was only forced to do these things by her pimp daddy. Alicent is practically a Targaryen, just not by blood or House name. Grew up next to them. Gave birth to them. Raised them. I think once this series is over, Alicent might end up more popular than Rhaenyra. I'm getting Sansa/Arya vibes where I ended up liking Sansa way more than Ayra by GOT's S7. Or perhaps Milly's Rhaenyra will be more likeable with fans but Emma's won't be since Rhaenyra is still young in these early episodes? I love this show! Everything can unfold unpredictably. Everyone is a c-nt or does evil things! I mean, is Otto pimping his daughter to the king any worse than what Blood and Cheese committed? And yet, we still love Daemon and think Otto is despicable? 🤣 Pimping your children is worse than ordering to kill children that happens to be your own blood? I think whoever is our favorite characters who we are rooting for is really based in the eye of the beholder. I know some labeling Daemon as a Gary Stu because he isn't labeled a kinslayer like Aemond or others but is so much charismatic and complicated like Jaime Lannister, we don't label him as that. Yet, the Hightowers can be viewed as grey too like Daemon. Perhaps a lighter shade of grey. I wouldn't necessarily label Daemon a Gary Stu . He worked to gain his abilities like Tony Stark did. He's not Steve Rogers getting his powers from a bottle from a science experiment. But contrarians/haters will say this because of his charisma the way Vader's charisma can make viewers overlook his flaws. It's like we view Daemon better than he really is even if he has all the flaws that comes from most villains. I saw a Reddit thread saying he or she supports the Greens and made excellent arguments. I read one reply saying neither. Team Blue (Valeryon). That both Blacks and Greens are despicable. F them both, right? 🤣 I love how our feelings can change for characters each episode or season. I remember hating Jaime Lannister in S1 & S2. By S3, he was awesome! In the end, maybe we should all blame Viserys for never setting laws for his next succession? Guidelines. Or perhaps the Targs should've never invaded foreign soil? Damn you, Aegon! Or maybe we should blame Jaehaerys because he didn't choose Rhaenys who should've been The Queen Who Was (and still is)? The moral to the story is sexism sucks. Bad consequences follows.. Someone who supports the Greens... www.reddit.com/r/asoiaf/comments/tx43v1/spoilers_main_how_many_of_you_also_support_the/ Excellent arguments and with even better responses. It still raises the question, maybe the Targaryens really are the villains of the show and of Westeros? So easy to kill Otto and their enemies with dragons. Too much inbreeding. Maybe they are but we don't see them that way or we refuse to see them that way since HOT D is about them. A lot of this succession confusion came from them after they invaded and conquered Westeros. And having dragon lords as rulers really isn't ideal to the common folk. It's like living in North Korea. You want to be ruled by inbred dragon lords in your country? Then again, the Targaryens with their dragons did help save Westeros from the White Walkers.

For clarification, Alicent is 18, Rhaenyra is 15 and Laena is 12. Although the actor appears much older, King Viserys is supposed to be 28. (edit: That would have made Viserys 13 when he fathered Rhaenyra)
@giovanicastro34212 жыл бұрын
I believe Alicent is also 15, at least in the show. She was aged down from her age in the books.
@Alewaxon2 жыл бұрын
@@giovanicastro3421 She was aged down but I believe not so much as to make her the same age as Rhaenyra... Alicent was like 9 to 10 years older than Rhaenyra in the books, and in turn Rhaenyra was like 12... So I believe that they aged up Rhaenyra to 15; and aged down Alicent to like 17 or 18, so around 3 years older than Rhaenyra... But I'm pretty confident that they are not actually the same age, just much more closer in age than in the books
