The director of this episode said that Rheanyra, Viserys and Daemon emerge out of episode 3 reborn with new perspective on who they are and what their purpose is. Well we just saw Daemon hear that help is coming and he can finally take a breather, but instead he rows out on his own, feigns surrender, and like a coiled snake he strikes cutting down 16 MEN all on his own like he’s playing Middle Earth: Shadow Of Mordor or Devil May Cry 5, gets saved by his army, and then kills the Crab Feeder and drags his corpse out showing off his new trophy! No offense to Rheanyra or Viserys, I love them, but Daemon just leveled up to Legendary Badass level with that scene alone.

Thinking politically and as par GOT times, Targaryens often wed themselves brother, sisters and cousins to keep the bloodline pure. Viserys even married his cousin.. so for Otto to suggest that a marriage take place between Aegon and Rhaenyra seems the best option. Both heirs become King and Queen. For everyone who has seen History and Lores of GOT and also read Fire and Blood, you know by just doing this, the entire line has the chance of being saved.

I think the episode was mostly great character development for Viserys and Rhaenyra. Paddy is amazing. He gets first billing in the intro. I also thought Alicent was great in this.

Crab feeder was important to Daemons progression as a character, not a big bad. He was also a tactician not a warrior. Don't worry. This was just a taste of what is to come. Never forget this show is about the Targaryen civil war. Not some crab guy.

Kingsguard swore a vow to never marry and take a child. It's kind of similar to the vow of the Night's Watch. So Rhaenyra can't marry Ser Criston Cole. She can probably smash him, but not marry.

In regarding the incestuous proposal of aegon and rhaenyra, is quiet common between the targaryens, in fact, daemon and viserys parents and grandparents were brother and sister.

Will edit if they noticed, cause still watching, but anyone else notice Vicerys’ now missing more then one finger? I wonder how his back looks now. I thought it could be greyscale at first, but in GoT it seemed to take over a lot quicker on Jorah. Edit: They noticed. I’m just glad other people did, especially since it isn’t really addressed at all.
@bellum1282 жыл бұрын
From what I can tell, it's just a "regular" infection in Viserys' case that they don't know how to stop, but not grayscale, since it looks like the crab feeder is the one that will bring in grayscale (and I don't think they'd have two instances of it this early). This is farther evidenced by the same infection happening on Viserys' finger after he cut it.
@christiecakes0142 жыл бұрын

There are going to be a number of time jumps, because the whole story from Aemma's death in childbirth to the end of the Dance of the Dragons takes place over 25 years, way too long to fit into a few seasons.

This was my favourite so far, let me just say that I had previously been critical of the performance Paddy Considine put in as Viserys but this episode he was just straight up brilliant, any doubts or issues I had with him are completely gone and I've never been happier being wrong. My only issue with this episode was Drahars off screen death.
