This scene was so well made she touched him and turn her back against him aswell and he respected her, could’ve eaten her or broil her but she commanded respect even thou she was most likely Nervous to some extent. I love it, Shame the future wasn’t kind to dragons or their house…by far house Targaryen is the most interesting and powerful due to their dragons and something we won’t ever see again as I am sure no sequels will be made and the writers will find a way to kill Drogon off before any eggs are laid or found. At this point the only way we are gonna see more dragons feats is on a prequel about old Valyria or Aegon’s conquest

Rhynaera could have used a riderless Vermithor like Dany did with her dragons but the risk of Vermithor bonding with someone that doesn't serve her is too great. That's why its important that the rider serves Rhynaera, which is also why she got angry at Adam and seasmoke until she saw him bend the knee. Dany never had to worry about this because she was the only Targaryen left and bastards were extremely rare or had very diminished blood.

I think Hugh actually took notes when Rhaenyra pacified Vermithor. He did almost the same thing, just without the High Valyrian; first called Vermithor's attention, then stood before him without showing fear, and when Vermithor did his intimidation display up close Hugh was not having it and basically told Vermithor "shut up and let me drive", which is close enough to "Serve".

She is almost full blooded Targaryen. They are much more likely to be accepted by dragons. Plus she has a ton of experience with dragons. Like a horseman can calm a wild horse because he understands them.

Priority. Vermithor is the largest dragon on Dragon stone and the 2nd biggest dragon behind Vhagar, so they wanted a rider for Vermithor because that would mean they would have a weapon against Vhagar right away. And then Silverwing would be next, after the claiming of Vermithor.

The blacks also seemed to preselect the candidates a bit too and send them to the dragon they thought might be the best match. No point sending Vermithor the timid washerwomen, but the stong, stoic blacksmith is worth a shot. Even a dwarf court jester made an attempt with Silverwing before Ulf
