Hugh Hammer is implied to be Saera Targaryen’s son. She was the daughter of King Jaehaerys (the King from S1E1) who had 13 children total, 7 daughters and 6 sons, one of them being Baelon the Brave (Viserys and Daemon’s dad). Almost all of his children would pass away however, which casued the Viserys vs Rhaenys succession issue before HOTD started. Jaehaerys, while an AMAZING king (60 something years of peace that’s always mentioned, blah blah blah), was known for being extremely quarrelsome with his daughters, and Saera had already made a name for herself by being promiscuous, so she was basically exiled which caused her tostart the pleasure house Hugh mentions. Lyonel Strong back in Season 1 actually notes to Viserys how great his grandfather Jaehaerys was, but how all his daughters drove him to madness lmao.

My word for this episode is LOYALTY (the lack of, the wrong loyalty)... About the Targaryen bastard, I just wonder, they could easily turn on Rhaenyra and join the greens... where does their loyalty lies ? - About Vermithor, they did not feed this baby before asking him to serve? The big boy feasted like there was no tomorrow... - About Jace, he has very good points: allowing strangers to have access to dragons (nukes), he worries about the aftermath of the blacks... the second biggest dragon in the world will have a rider who could have ulterior motives to Rhaenyra's claim and her royal line...

His parentage is full highborn and he’s just as 50/50 Targaryen as Alicents kids. It was a 50/50 chance that Alicents kids would not have silver hair. The show is doing a great job showing us the disparity between highborn and lowborn and how in this world lowborn are not looked at well. Jace is highborn on both sides even if he’s technically a bastard.

Yeah he definitely let his emotions get the best of him with the “mongrels” and “these people” lines. I do give him a past though because he’s still young and reckless, and his grievances DO have some truth to them. This “high-born, 100% noble blood” qualm has been an issue for literally his entire life. He just went about it in a very disrespectful way.

There are still two wild dragons that will show next season most likely. Sheepsteeler is in the preview but the other two can't wait to see them
