I feel these episode's are showing that Viserys is losing allies in the court due to suspicion of dishonesty. First he lost Otto because of his marriage to Otto's daughter Alicent and them having a male heir. Now Rhaenyra's who has had coupled with the son of the hand of the king which may make another of his loyal servant two-faced.

Usually the suspicion costs you more if you're not straightforward about it, and he straight up explained everything to Otto in reasonable terms when he fired him and seemed to do it out of his distaste for having to do anything cruel about potential plots. He even managed to repair his damaged relationship with Corlys by never lying to the man and leaving the door open for diplomacy. Rhaenyra is actually the one who's deceits have cost her relationships, despite however us viewers might feel about her chasing her own passions.

Seems like Westeros is tolerant of gay people in kinda ''don't ask don't tell'' way, but surely if he openly said it he was angry cause of his affair... Also Corlys and Rhaenys probably are kinda happy he is out of picture now, same as the King who would also know the rumors... and Alicent on Cole's side and perhaps Rhaenyra too bacause of her guilt. So only poor Laenor remains who really cares.

It must be difficult having two separate casts and the older cast has likely already seen the online hate towards them even though they haven't even been on screen yet. The reason for an older cast has been clear from the start and we've known they were gonna get an older cast half way through for a long time. I love how they gave sunfyre's wings the pinkish-colored membranes. The scene is too dark to really tell just how vivid the coloring is. Sunfyre was a beautiful dragon with gleaming gold scales and pale pink wing membranes. In the sunlight his scales shone like beaten gold

I will miss the actresses playing Alicent and Rhaenyra, but I have been excited since before the show started to see Olivia Cooke from Bates Motel portray Alicent, I think she will do an excellent job in the role. For clarification, just because you have a half black parent, doesn’t mean you will automatically have black features, especially when that black parent is biracial. In my family alone, there are 2 blue eyed gingers - one parent is half black half white. Looking at features on a person to see if they’re “black” can be offensive. They better make Sunfyre shine golden instead of making him some drab yellow. The reason everyone loves Caraxes is that his design is unique. I'm afraid HotD is going to play it too safe and all the dragons will blend together and become clones of their Drogon GoT design.

They already mentioned that the dragons will have 3 different designs. So far Caraxes looks the most unique because it was described that way in the book. Meleys and Seasmoke seemingly have similar designs, reminiscent of Drogon, Viserion and Rhaegal. And Syrax is a different design. We can only wait and see what the others look like. The details of the Dragons will likely be dependent upon how much screen time they get, according to the importance of the rider and the fights.

The showrunners have explained that there are 3 varieties of dragon in HotD. Some will inevitably look like the ones that we saw 'later' as Drogon, Viserion, and Rhaegal. I believe Caraxes was given a particularly unique design, independent of the others...iirc he was described as being weird-looking with his long neck, so it doesn't sound like Caraxes is a species, but a freak.

It's a great breakdown but I wanted to fix some points, Daemon and Laena had twin daughters, so the child in her belly is baby number 3 and probably her tragic end Aemond's losing eye is not this episode's story, it will happen later in Laena's funeral, whole family will be in the stepstones(it can be seen in the trailer)and Aemond will try to steal Vhagar but he will caught by Rhaenyra's son, they will fight and he will get stapped through his eyes, Alicent will be mad and try to attack Rhaenyra(again in the trailer) The kid Aegon kicked is Lucareys, Rhaenyra's second child and the kid who stapped Aemond is also Lucareys not Viserys, Viserys is Daemon and Rhaenyra's son, he is a Targeryan and he will be born at the end of this season

Not fireproof. They just have a higher resistance to heat and fire. Fireproof-Dany was something the show runners of GOT came up with. In the books she's not mentioned to be fireproof either. She survived being burnt alive during Khal Drogo's funeral because she had unknowingly used blood magic to protect herself and hatch her 3 dragon eggs by sacrificing Mirri Maz Duur.

I think it is deer or a similar animal, it is put there so that the dragon learns how to hunt or use its fire energy properly, seems like we will see the training phase of the dragons by the dragonkeepers because Jacareys, Rhaenyra's son is with a dragonkeeper when he says "dracarys" and they probably teach him how to control his dragon

There was so much put on the King to pick a new heir yet how many years have gone by and he's still alive and kicking? I know in the book its a bit different, but I feel like pushing him to chose an heir in the show when he still had so many years left in him (which I know, can't be predicted, he could have died anytime) feels a bit odd. To be fair it probably did not help Laenor's disposition that his boyfriend was brutally murdered by Sir Criston. He probably did not take it well and unlikely to think that Rhaenyra had nothing to do with it. There would be a LOT of tension there which would make it even more difficult to fulfill his duties so to speak. Also the princess so far has not been shown as the type to repress urges if she is unsatified.

so you're implying she essentially force a gay man to have sex with a woman, something neither of them want? part of the downfall of the targaryens is their arrogance and belief that they're above others, hence rhaenyra definitely knowing nobody is about to openly speak treason against 2 dragon-riders. I think there's definitely a sense of her pushing her power like cersei does in the later seasons of GoT where she's kinda like ok there's these rumours....what are you gonna do about it? I'm sure at the start it's an unfortunate realisation to everyone, like oh shit these kids are clearly not laenor's, but after getting the family support it's gonna be much more about her giving birth to dragon-riders than just being 'legitimate' children. If they're born with the velaryon name then they're not really bastards, they're legitimised considering both sides of the family would openly claim/support them

Having read the book, I’d have loved if HBO would have started the series from the first conquest. This is especially true since they had no issue jumping forward in the timeline. It would have made for a longer series with more than a few seasons. As for the trailer, and the series itself, I think it’s being done really well. Even the liberties that the show runners are taking with some of the finer details, they stay close to the source material.

Hearing the first five episodes referred to as a prologue put the actress change into perspective for me. though their choices seem more mature than "Hollywood 30 year olds" normally appear though maybe its from the extended period with the younger actresses that the change feels so abrupt when you consider none of the male actors changed at all.

Laenor and Laena were/will also be changed actors. They have had 3 each, so it is not only females just the younger cast. Aemond and Aegon also will be.

Most of the male actors were already adults at least in their 20s if not older when we first meet their characters. However Rhaenyra and Alicent are teens when we meet them. Laena and Laenor are kids when we first meet them. It's good that the actors are getting aged up. Only a pity because I would have preferred a bit more time with the actor and actress who portrayed Laena and Laenor in ep 5

If the jump is 10 years, shouldn't be Laenor and Laena already dead? Laenor and Rhaenyra wedding take place at 114 AC, a 10 years time jump would place us at 124AC, but Laenor and Laena died at 120AC. Laena appears in the teaser, will they change the year of the events or will it be more than 1 time skip in the episode (since we'll see teen Aegon)?

I'm curious what was the marriage really like between Daemon and Rhea? It's never really described in the book. Rhea comes off kinda butch/lesbo like Yara Greyjoy. Like an annoying Karen. Daemon didn't say a single word to her. She kept running her mouth and then he kills her. He was looking like he was going to spare her life until she said I knew you couldn't finish it. I can imagine that's why Daemon hated her and caused his ED. He was only forced to marry her. I liked that Rhea threw that sheep line back at his face. And saying he couldn't finish meant they did sleep together but she's aware he can't climax. Perhaps the root of that is really because he was married to her! Not that she deserved to be killed but we don't really know the story between them. We can only make assumptions. Rhea Royce only lasted as long as a commercial break in this series. The actress who portrayed her is really quite attractive. But Daemon seems to be attracted to Targs. Laena is half. While Rhaenyra's grandparents were brother-sister. Her parents were first cousins. DEMON Targaryen is attracted to dragon blood. He loves them female dragon riders.

To be honest up to this point I loved this TV show, loved it. But seeing that there's gonna be a 10 year jump in the further and that the main actress are changing maked me very mad and I don't know if I will be still watching the show after this.
