Daemon wasn't laughing at his wife's death. He was trying to make light of the comment Vhaemond made about true blood and was trying to take the heat off Rhaenyra.

The ending scene with Viserys talking with Alicent......Viseys thought he was talking to Rheanyra!

at the end Viserys thought he was continuing the convo that he had with Rhaenyra a couple nights ago. Alicent didnt know about the dream so she assumed Viserys was talking about their son Aegon, not Aegon the Conquerer. Alicent misunderstood and Viserys misspoke. He always stood behind Rhaenyra.

Especially because there was that scene in the third episode when a very drunk Viserys, standing by the bonfire at the hunt, was talking to Alicent about his dream of putting his son on the throne and wondering if it had been a mistake to name Rhaenyra as his heir. By the end of that episode he was telling Rhaenyra that he would not replace her as his heir. But by showing us that conversation, it gave a little bit more of a justification for how Alicent could be confused by what he was saying just before he died.

This performance by Paddy Consadine (Viscerys) was so powerful. In early episodes he came across as so weak, I kept thinking the role was a waste for an actor of his caliber. But man. He brought it to these two episodes. That scene at the dinner when he shows his ravaged face, sets aside any semblance of his own pride, he’s begging his family to stop putting their own egos first.

Daemon (age 31) and Viserys (age 35) and Ser Criston (about age 28) didn't change because they were already adults and fully grown up at the beginning of the series in episode 1. The only ones who changed are the young people; Alicent and Rhaenyra are only 14 in the first episode, and Laena and Laenor are 12 and 14 when we first meet them. By the time we get to adult Rhaenyra and adult Alicent, they age from 28 to 32 years old, which is why both are played by different, older actresses. The 19 and 22 year old actresses who played young Alicent and Rhaenyra could more or less pull off being teenagers, but switching them out with the 28 and 30 year old actresses closer to the characters' ages after the time jump works a lot better than padding out the younger actresses, putting them in taller shoes, and aging them up 10+ years through makeup. Because SO MANY of the HotD names sound so much alike, I highly recommend watching it with the subtitles when you do Season 2. It really is the easiest way to make sense of everything that's happening.

Laena and laenor are younger than that but the show messed up ages so bad it’s a mess doing the story. Rhaebyra and and aegon are supposed to be way closer in age and Alicent is older than her.

I absolutely love the scene where Viscerys walks to the throne. The music is both sad and triumphant. And I love the contradiction that despite him being as his physically weakest point, his resolute and resolve is at its absolute peak. His daughter and heir to The iron Throne needs him one last time and he's gonna be there for her no matter what it cost him,

Daemon smirked at the comment that was made about "Valaryen blood never thin." This comment was made to say that Rhenerya 's children weren't true Valaryen blood. Trust me, Daemon wanted to kill him there. It was better for him to just laugh it off. 😊

Plus we should get very few time jumps of any significance in the future. They had to do it this season to cover all the drama that led the Targaryen family to what the rest of the seasons for this series will be about.

With the reduction in episode length from 10 to 8 I think they will be doing five seasons overall. It will probably end with the Hour of the Wolf 🐺 then the Stark - Blackwood marriage as a lead-in to the next aSoI&F prequel ~ "House of the Wolf 🐺" which is my prediction because the Snow spin-off was publicly declared on the shelf by Game of Thrones alumnus and prospective Executive Producer Kitt Harrington recently.

There is a faction of fans that want more equity among the Great Houses of Westeros and have Targaryen fatigue. I am not in that camp but I acknowledge that they exist. "House of the Wolf 🐺" would be marketable. I don't see the regency of 👑 Aegon Dragonbane in 24 more episodes. If the show is continuing to improve in the ratings each season then a fifth season will be prognosticated by the middle of season three.

His injuries from fighting have become infected. And since they can’t treat that type of thing in this medieval type of age, the infection has spread throughout his body, and thus is life threatening.

Except, he isn't wrong to say "back then" because this was far in the Westerosi past, like 300 yrs, and in GOT they kept saying how Targaryen incestual marriages were something they "used to do" and that it was "hundreds of years ago." They implied over and over that relationships of that kind between "close" members of the family -- siblings, uncles and nieces or aunts and nephews, anything closer than first cousins -- were a thing of the _past_ and that most of Westerosi culture saw it as an abominable practice that was tied to ancestors FAR in the past which had thankfully died off. So BJ isn't wrong to say this was normal for Targaryens "back then."

Episode 7, the Dark Episode, probably the worst. Every actor in the same place, tight budget few lines at the funeral, a lot of looking to each other, to the point it's boring and ridiculous. bad editing (no light many minutes in the beach), bad acting the kiss of Daemon and Rhaneyra was very bad. she looks older than him, no chemistry. ridiculous. Alicent change from a quiet person two episodes ago, now wants to take eyes of chieldreen. what? bad story tellers. just the worst. this should not be compared or associated with the Game of Thrones
